Does anyone have an EVO?

How long does your battery last?  Mine only makes it 5 hours before it's dead.  Seems kinda short?  I am thinking about taking back to Best Buy and seeing if they will replace the battery since I have their insurance plan (and batteries are covered).

Also, what is your favorite apps?

:)

Re: Does anyone have an EVO?

  • My H has an Evo but I'm not sure how long the battery lasts.  Do you have an app killer?  That makes a big difference.  I use Advanced Task Killer.

My favorite app is Angry Birds.

ditto on the app killer.  I use the same one on my Hero.  Do you like the evo?  I really want to get one!  Also, if I am on the phone a lot during the day or using apps it really makes my battery go dead quick!

  • Yes you need an app killer.  Ditto on advanced app killer.  You can get it free from the market.

Favorite apps... WordFeud!  (PLAY with me... I'm Sara76, naturally :), Facebook, Twitter, Groupon, NPR News

  • I have never heard of a Task Killer.....LOL.  But I downloaded it and I hope it works!  I will have to look into those apps.....once my phone is finished charging!

Thanks for the feedback, I really am clueless!

  • With the task killer you should ideally get about 12 hours.  Also check your settings.  Keep your 4G off if you don't need it.  Same thing with your bluetooth, and GPS settings.  Just turn them off if you aren't using them.  Keep the light on your screen dim, that uses a lot of batter life.  Also try the app "battery indicator".  It will tell you what apps are using how much of your battery life.  It only works until the phone is plugged in, then it resets itself. If that doesn't get you there at least 12 hours, def take it in and have them check it out.  They will test your battery and make sure it isn't defective and should be happy to give you some tips for your particular phone.  HTH :)

  • Once your done using an app, use the app killer. That will make the app completely shut down instead of it running in the background.

  • Definitely in agreement with the app killer, it works wonders.

Also, try making sure that all of your apps are as up to date as possible.  If there are some apps or widgets that are running older versions, they might not be working as efficiently with your current firmware version and that could be causing the issue as well.
