Has anyone tried the "knockoff" Clarisonic?

We bought this Olay Professional Pro-X Advanced Cleaning System package (it's just like this one on amazon, but with a larger cleanser container) at Costco for $30...I have never gotten to try the Clarisonic, and for sure believe the amazon reviewers that say the Clarisonic is better (!!), but for $30, I am SO SO happy with this product/package.

(I'd still...probably more now...love to get a Clarisonic...but this will satisfy me, I think, until I can move it a little higher in my bday/holiday wishlist and/or can afford to buy it without cringing a little bit inside ;)).

Just wanted to share!  Wondering if anyone else has tried it?  Or if anyone super craves a Clarisonic might also be (at least temporarily) appeased by a super affordable alternative ...

Re: Has anyone tried the "knockoff" Clarisonic?

  • DH bought me the Nutra Sonic for Christmas. It's a cheaper version of the Clarisonic (it's about $100). But it works just as well, if not better!

The Nutrasonic actually has more speed settings, and can oscillate at a higher frequency than the Clarisonic (400 for the Nutra Sonic and only 300 for the Clarisonic). Plus the brush heads are cheaper. And the full brush head on the Nutra Sonic moves, whereas on the Clarisonic only the center of the brush head oscillates.

Just thought I'd throw that out there in case someone wants something more than the Olay one (which I hadn't heard about before, but it's nice to hear there are more affordable options), but can't stomach the $200+ for the Clarisonic.

  • Thanks for the reviews! I was wondering abt the knock offs.
  • Thanks for sharing this. I might try the $30 one, but no way I'm spending much more than that.
