Ok so I have been trying to think of something special to get/make H for Valentines day. He just started his own business at the end of January so I thought about going on Etsy and having his business logo made into one of those vinyl wall decals for his home office - I know how proud he is everytime he sees the logo so I thought that would be a great idea - then I thought, what if I could do it in some sort of framed art so when we eventually move into a single family home, we could take it with us.
I'd love to find a way to do this myself, but I'm not sure how to do it - any suggestions? I realize it wouldnt be a decal at this point but likely a traced/painted replica of his logo - please let me know if you have any ideas on how I could possibly do this myself haha. Or if you know of any places that do this sort of thing (companies) let me know - I may look into having it professionally done if its not gonna cost me an arm and a leg
Here's the Logo:
Re: I need your creativity ladies...
The logo doesn't show up for me
Talk to a Kinkos or something similar and see if they can print it large for you. Is it square? rectagular? Look for a decent size frame first (even Target has good, inexpensive, large frames.) Look even for one that's got the mat in it, they can always be removed!
I wish I could see the logo, 'cause I'd have more ideas for you! It's it mostly an outline? It might be cool to do it on top of a colored background if so.

I agree with Steph on Kinkos. And I cant see it either
GL to your hubby!
Hmmm lets try this...here's a link to the image on photobucket...

Steph thats a good idea - I may check Michaels for a large frame since they always have those 40% off coupons I could likely get a good deal.
I still love the idea of a traced and hand painted replica but I'm just not sure how to get the tracing onto a canvas/paintable surface in order to paint it...hmm.

I used to do that with an overhead projector
I don't think you can find one those lying around anymore though. haha. How big do you want it to be? You can get it printed really big at Kinko's. If it's just black and white text on a 16x20 or so sheet of paper, it should be pretty cheap. (Less than $5, I'd think/hope.)
Then just use a box cutter/utility knife kind of thing to cut out each letter. Use that as a stencil on another sheet of paper. Or just do it directly onto a canvas, and then you don't have to frame it either.

Great Ideas ladies!! I'm going to ask a craft store for suggestions this weekend - I realize its only 3 days away but I thought maybe I could work on it Saturday - or I could always say "your presents on its way" - Afterall my husband is the one that says "Valentines day is for girls" lol and never expects a vday gift anyway.

If you're still looking for frames, I actually bought some on amazon from a custom framer. I needed an odd size that the traditional stores didn't carry pre-made. I ordered it from a seller called "ArtToFrames"
Might be worth looking at to see if they sell a frame for you (when you get the image made of course)
Hey! I just thought of something... if you have a high-res copy of the logo, why not just get it printed as a canvas? A photog friend of mine recommended art.com. Their prices seem pretty reasonable.
