Product Rave-Make Up

I was in need of a new, light weight, natural foundation, so I hit up the MAC counter with a gift card I had on Wednesday.  I told the associate what kind of skin I had (oily) and what I was looking for and she recommended their Mineralize Satin Finish SPF 15 liquid foundation.  Oh my goodness.  It's probably the best foundation I've ever used.  It looks SO natural on my skin, seriously like I'm not even wearing make up.  No unnatural cakey matte look at all.  It also looks great after 10 hours when my skin as gone totally oily.  It doesn't at all slide around on my skin, look gross or waxy.  Where has this product been all my life!  I set it with just a quick swipe of the MAC Mineralize Pressed Powder and then finish the rest of my look.  The only thing I have issues with is creasing in my eye lid, but I used a primer under the foundation today and it really seems to help.  Other than that, it's amazing!

It's $30/bottle but worth every single penny.

  • Thanks for the rec.  It sounds like exactly what I'm looking for.  I'm pretty please with Bare Minerals but I honestly think it only looks good if you have perfect skin.  On my breakout days I need something more like this MAC product.

  • Yes Thx for the review.

I've always wondered about MAC products.  I always wondered if they were too heavy for daily use, and more for getting super dolled up.  I might give Clinique the 'ol heave ho in place of it.  I'm looking for something that can make my skin look more porcelain.  I've been using Clinique's loose mineral make-up, and it does a nice enough job, I'd just like that "finished" look.

You should definitely give it a try.  They should be able to give you a sample of it too so you don't have to drop $30 then find out you don't like it.

This product especially seems to work great for everyday (at least for me), it's not heavy at all.  Their Select Foundation line is a little heavier and is more for getting super dolled up.

I love the MAC primer, too!  Totally gives your skin a dewy but not oily/greasy look and helps to keep your makeup from settling into fine lines, pores, etc.- just gives a smoother, more flawless finish!  I use it under my Clinique airbrush concealer and Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer (I hate foundation, but may have to try this new MAC one!) and I'm good to go!
