I think we might go to the Paragon casino tomorrow night.  It's only about 40 minutes away from us and MIL has been after me to let Elise spend the night at her house.  I've never been apart from her for the night and I know I need to let her do it (as she is already 2 1/2), so I think we will.  I'd rather if she was staying at my parents for her first overnight away, but if that were the case, then I'd be a couple of hours away if it went badly and she wanted to come home.  At least this way, I'm ten minutes away.  *Deep Breath*

I know this a "You don't know until you have kids" kinda thing, but the way I see it, his parents were able to raise their own kids without serious complications. I don't see one night being a problem. Like you said, you're only 40 minutes away and it's just for one night. You and J deserve a night away

I would like to tell you you'll be ok, but I can't even tell myself that enough to leave N over night. He is much younger than E, but I am still not sure I would be able to do it. (I'm a big help, huh?!)

Jumping back in to add that I'm all talk as well.  My mom & MIL are foaming at the mouth to have N overnight and I've pretty much laughed at them both.  My SIL is trying to convince me and the husband to go to NO for a weekend in May with her and her husband and while it would be a great getaway, I just don't see this actually happening.

well we did it and it all went well.  We didn't go to the casino, but we went to a fancy pants restaurant and it was great.  Had way too much wine so paid for THAT today.  But she didn't even cry last night, but she WAS happy to see us when we went get her
