DH and I were supposed to chaperone a ski trip tomorrow for the Outing Club at my school. My sister was booked to sleep over and babysit, everything set.
Ski trip canceled. Soooo, we are taking advantage of the babysitting and instead planned a great date night/Valentine's. For my b-day DH got me a prenatal massage and so I returned the favor and got him a massage for his b-day. We are going to go swimming and work out at the Wentworth By the Sea, then get 1 hour massages, then use our gift certificate to a restaurant downtown portsmouth
Sooo excited. If only I could have wine ;P
Anyone else got V-day plans? On actual Valentine's I have a 3 hour open house at school from 5:30-8:30, what lovely planning huh?
Re: Date night planned!!
Yay! You deserve a nice treat and some date time with your husband!
We don't have much planned. Sunday and Monday nights are MH's busiest study nights of the week so we'll just have something nice for dinner on Monday. I'm thinking of doing an at home picnic so neither of us is stuck with a ton of dishes.
That sounds lovely! DH and I went for a couples' massage last year - it was a splurge, but it was sooo worth it. I would love to find a place in ME that has something similar, since we were still in NY last year.
I'm hoping we can make it out to dinner sometime next week - not Monday because I have no patience for crowds, but maybe Wednesday. There are still sooo many restaurants in Portland I'm dying to try.
Sounds like a perfect plan for a date night, especially the massages!
DH won't be home from sea yet on Valentine's Day, so I'll be riding solo. I'm not a huge Valentine's Day person- maybe it's from years of working in resaurants, it always feels so crowded and loud when you try to go out, at least to me. We usually do something around the date, but since he's hoping to be home by Tuesday night, we'll just be relaxing @ home. We've got a doctor's appt on Thursday, and then going to see a play that night, so I think that will pretty much act as our night. I'm also looking to cook him a duck dish at some point that is a ripoff of one of the dishes I had @ the Supper Club a few weeks back, so that should round things out. I consider it my Valentine's treat that he's coming home.

That sounds awesome!! Enjoy!!
I've really just barely started to see someone so we're not "doing" Valentine's Day, and he will have his son that day anyway, but we're going out tonight, which should be fun.
I'll probably buy myself some chocolate on Monday, haha, I've had such a sweet tooth lately!
That sounds like such a fantastic day/night! (And you're better than me, because I would totally have the glass of wine.)
We don't really do Valentine's Day either. It's my sister and BIL's birthdays (not married to one another, different sister), so a lot of my life I've been doing birthday stuff on V-day. Plus it's smack dab between MH's bday and mine, so we've always got enough celebrating going on. Add to that that it's a Monday this year, and we'll probably just have a same old, same old day.
Well, I can say that its been debated back and forth, but I'm at the point where I think in public places people judge. I definitely allow myself one here and there, but usually in the judge free zone of my house.
We don't generally do V-day either. We are WAY overdue for just a normal date night, but the thought of shelling out for a babysitter in addition to whatever we do kind of gives me the financial hives. We'll do something later in the month, but it won't be valentines related.
Your evening sounds lovely though!
