Canning in something other than glass.
My brother is going to Afghanistan and we can't send glass. My sister in law and I would like to send him canned stuff but are at a loss for how to can in something other than glass. Any ideas??

Not green, but perhaps the plastic air-lock stuff? I've never used it, but that's probably 'safe' and light.
What about dehydrating things to send? Fruit mixes and stuff?
