I know it's more of a Hallmark holiday nowadays, but do you and DH do anything?
DH used to go all out for Valentine's, but not really anymore. I'm making a nice dinner and DH offered to give me a massage (I'm one of those people who wish they could get a massage everyday...therefore I ask him every day and he usually says no haha)
Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy V-Day ladies! We aren't doing much in the way of celebrating but I did get my H a t-shirt for v-day and he got me some potted red tulips. I left a card on the kitchen table for him since I leave well before he does. I dressed our baby girl in a heart covered onesie so she is very festive today.
I just have to say... I HATE how everyone says it's just a stupid "Hallmark Holiday". People started celebrating St. Valentine's Day loooong before there was such a thing as Hallmark. Why can't there just be a day to celebrate love? DH and I agree that we don't love each other any more on this day, but it's nice to have another reason to do something special for each other. We don't buy flowers and candy and expensive gifts... but we go somewhere special to have an experience/ make a new memory together. What's so bad about that??
That being said (thanks for letting me get that off my chest and no offense to anyone who disagrees), I surprised DH with a champagne brunch cruise of the SF Bay yesterday. It was a gorgeous day and we really enjoyed being out on the water and seeing how pretty our new hometown is! We are also going out to eat tonight at a cute little Italian place, but the menu and prices are exactly the same as any other night.
Edit: because it came out wrong.
Happy Valentine's Day!
We used to celebrate more lavishly in our dating stage, but now that we're married, we are more low-key. H surprised me with flowers on Saturday, and I offered to cook him dinner tonight.
Happy Valentine's Day ladies! I disagree with most of the population on this one, V-day is and has always been one of my favorite holidays. Everything is sweet and pink/red and smells good and tastes good and its all about love. Even when I was single I loved having a day dedicated to spoiling people I care about. Now that we are married, I love that its a holiday that we don't have to share with our families/travel/stress about/etc.
With that said, usually we do something but nothing fancy (as it is rediculous how expensive things are). This year however, DH totally blew me away. I have been having a horrible time at work. I have been so stressed I wasn't eating or sleeping, having migranes and my back was all tight and messed up. Saturday he suprised me with a spa morning (pedicure/foot massage and a regular massage, plus use of the sauna, etc.) it was HEAVEN. I have never been to the spa before and let me tell you it was just like I imagined. Then we spent the day touring local wineries and vineyards, doing tastings and then followed with dinner. It was such a perfect day and so relaxing! Then today he sent me flowers at work, something he has never done before. Tonight I am cooking him dinner and just watching tv. Sorry to be an AW, but it seriously was the best gift/weekend ever!
Sounds amazing! Hope the stress levels goes down for you soon.
Happy valentines day! I'm a girl who jumps at any chance to party, so I am totally down with V-Day. I also love working in the school system, because I get just as excited as the kids, so I fit right in (where when I worked in an office, they didnt appreciate my hot pink skirt and red lip earrings).
My husband took me to an indian restaurant in birmingham on Saturday. I love it because 75% is vegetarian and I can eat my weight in naan bread. He got me some snickers and a card. Usually we go big on v-day, but this year we are so poor
Next year will be better tho!! My mom got me some ghirardelli chocolates and my aunt got me some dove truffles, I am pretty set for the week!
