Toddler Funny

We, like all the other toddler Moms, are struggling with bed time at my house.  Each night Parker screams Daddy's bed because my husband has created a bad habit of letting him come in our bed if he wakes up too early.

Last night I told him that it was time to go to Parker's bed.  He looked me and said, "You kidding me??? Pah-kah seep in Daddy's bed."  I don't know what I am going to do with this child.

  • I am enjoying the crib stage while I can!  Is it bad to say that if Macy wakes up in the middle of the night I almost NEVER go to check on her?  We have a video monitor so I know she is ok but I HATE getting out of bed in the middle of the night.

But one day she won't be in a crib and will be able to come into our bedroom at night.  OMG, I am not looking forward to that day!

  • Gawd, I feel so terrible for saying this, but your post makes me so happy. I know, it's awful, and I'm a sh!tty person, lol. I think it's because you said "like other toddler moms."

You weren't looking for advice, and I have none, but I can share my own story.

Tonight Lily shocked me. For real, like shock. I was lying down by her bed like I normally do, and I always end up there until she falls asleep. I know, not good. So, we're working on it, and tonight I told her I'd stay with her until she fell asleep but then I was going to go sleep in my own bed in my own room. That seemed fine with her, and we went on as usual. Then, long after that conversation, she told me to go sleep in my own bed.

So, stupid me was thinking, "wow, she's ready all in her own time to fall asleep without us being here. Is it really that easy?"

No. no sooner did I have that stupid thought than I heard her struggling at her door. She gathered her blanket and her mickey mouse and she was on her way to my bed! Such a clever little girl, she had it all figured out.
