Re: random poll: what item did you purchase...
I don't really have any one thing, but I remember when JJ and I were engaged and we picked out our first crappy washer and dryer and spent $500, he kind of had a moment where he was freaked out. He just kept saying "I'm an adult, I'm a grown up..."
The only thing that made me have to sit down and freak out for a second was our TV, but that's because between the TV, receiver, cables, protection plan, accessories, etc. it was a couple grand... for a TV!!!
When I bought my car in 2007. I was proud that I bought it on my own & didn't have anyone else co-sign.
I love my car, but I wish I would've done a little more research & haggling. Granted, I didn't get totally screwed, but looking back, I could've done better.
My car. I got it all alone and had no help with a cosigner or a down payment.
Our couch is the other thing. DH and I got it right after we got married. It hasn't held up as well as it should have but it was our 1st big purchase.
I understand completely. Buying a Dyson made me feel like an adult. 16 year-old me would've had a *** fit that I spent $400 on a vacuum.
again with the stealing of my life....
