I FINALLY got new road tires for my mountain bike.  We went to Performance on the 85 access road.  They were really nice!  DH managed to get my on a road bike, but I told him I wanted to get back into the swing of things before I invest a ton of money.  I did buy a pair of shorts, but I wanted to know which Goodwills you hit up that have all the athletic stuff.  I went back and read through your bio today and saw that you mentioned that, but wondered if you'd be willing to share your secrets! Big Smile  I know we're on the opposite sides of town, but I've never seen good stuff like that at ours!

Re: **Sadlebred**

  • Glad you got some new slicks for your mountain bike! If you decide to purchase a bike, I can recommend some really great local bike shops.

My ultimate Goodwill remains a secret. Sorry! Big Smile Sandy Springs just off Roswell Rd. in the old Target shopping center in Sandy Springs as well as the "Buckhead" Goodwill on Roswell Rd. often have good selections of athletic clothes. I find that Goodwills in more "upscale" areas have more athletic clothing (not saying anything bad about anyone, that's just my experience). Finding cycling specific stuff is luck.  Marshalls and TJ Maxx can be good places to find things on the clearance racks.

What size are you? I might have some clothes in good condition I can pass along to you. (I think I may be a size larger than you, though).

  • I will definitely look around at those.  I have some wicking tops from running, but I'm keeping my eyes out for a jersey or two.  I haven't really tried any on, so I'm not sure if I would be a med or large. I was going to try some on at Performance but had so much sticker shock that I couldn't bring myself to do it...haha! Buuuut, REI released their scratch and dent sale dates for March, so I'll also be on the hunt there.
