Mrs. Moosie and other Gleeks

What was up with Tina in "Silly Love Songs"? Why did she start crying? Did I miss something?

Also, I have the Superbowl ep saved on my DVR so that I can watch Blaine sing "Bills Bills Bills" anytime I want. I made DH sit through it twice yesterday.

I'm so glad you asked this - I watched this last night and was totally confused why the tears (and the awful singing!)

  • Supposedly she was so overwhelmed by the song and "her love for Mike Chang" that she broke down into sobs. I didn't understand it myself, but that's what I read.
  • I thought it was really weird too.
  • I guess it was supposed to be funny, but it seemed totally bizarre to me too. A lot of that show has missed the mark for me lately...

That's what I got out of watching it. She was sobbing and singing "baby don't leave me" or something like that at the end of the breakdown. I took it to mean she was so in love with him and worried that he was going to leave her someday.

  • I thought the part with Tina went on for waaaay too long.  It was super annoying.

The episode was pretty predictable, what with the result of singing in GAP and what not.  I kept predicting what was going to happen- it was kind of a poor showing, in my opinion.

I did like Rachel singing "Firework" at the end.  But I love that song and generally like her voice better than Katy Perry's.  Big Smile

  • How did I miss this post?! Haha, I guess your question was already answered. I took it as Tina being overcome with emotion and just soooooo in love with Mike. It was awkward, but I still thought it was cute. I think Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina) maybe just can't pull off a funny cry as well as Naya Rivera (Santana).

But I am a MIke and Tina fan, and I love their cute little interactions, so it was okay with me (even though it was kind of weird).

Is it a Glee sin to say that I hope Mike Chang and Brittany eventually get together? <3 lol

  • Ha! No. Not a Glee sin. Though I really think Brittany's true soulmate is Santana  :P
