I'm looking for somewhere where I can dig through old furniture to find diamonds in the rough. Antique shops I've found have been curated, edited, polished, etc. I'm looking for affordable old pieces that can be painted and worked on, nothing fine. While I have my share of nice antiques, that's not what I'm after right now.
On a related note, is the Big One flea market at the ag expo any good? From the website, it looks a little like Nashville's sucky flea market - too many vendors selling second quality socks and generic shampoo from China, etc.
I'm also open to furniture consignment shops or places like Habitat for Humanity.
I'm willing to drive a ways if there's a huge store somewhere.
PS - yes, I'm keeping my eye on CL.
