What activities (sports, clubs, organizations, arts, etc) did you do growing up? Growing up...only 4-H for horses. I joined when I was in 5th grade
How about during HS? Band, cheerleading, equestrian team, 4-H
College? None -- I changed schools too often
Is there anything you did years ago that you want to get back into? Horses
Anything new you want to try? I'd like to find a good mommy & me group or playgroup in my area for the weekends, but so far I haven't had much luck. I don't see myself getting involved in new groups/clubs, but I'd love to be active in whatever things Brody chooses to participate in.
What activities (sports, clubs, organizations, arts, etc) did you do growing up? nothing except Brownies.
How about during HS? Marching band. and band staff. I was a nerd. A couple of academic clubs too but that doesn't really count. I worked outside of band season my junior and senior yrs.
College? rugby and I was an RA for 3 yrs. I worked pt my last year or so in addition to being an RA too.
Is there anything you did years ago that you want to get back into? eh, I still play rugby and am sad to retire. I've toyed with joining community band, but its unlikely.
Anything new you want to try? I would LOVE to do crossfit, but its not in the budget right now.
What activities (sports, clubs, organizations, arts, etc) did you do growing up? Tennis (off and on), Dancing (ballet, tap, jazz from 5-13), started in orchestra when I was 11 (middle school)
How about during HS? Orchestra in 9th grade, drama in 10th and 11th-which included musicals, plays, etc...Also played tennis in 9th and 12th grade, very involved in National Honor Society and volunteering.
College? My sorority took up quite a bit of time, I was an officer for 3 years.
Is there anything you did years ago that you want to get back into? Eh...not really, I'm pretty happy with my artsy experience, I would love to be on a softball team or something, I really never played team sports, that's definitely a regret of mine. I really like running now, so that's my big activity.
Anything new you want to try? I'd also like to try Crossfit, but I don't think I want an additional gym membership right now. Nor do I want to be boxed into class times.
How about during HS? Marching band (& competitions), indoor track, tennis, NHS, work P/T
College? Tennis, Indoor & Outdoor Track
Is there anything you did years ago that you want to get back into? I miss dance and skating sometimes but I don't think I'll get back into them, except for the occasional skating in the winter. I'd like to start playing tennis again.
Anything new you want to try? Yoga & a cooking class
What activities (sports, clubs, organizations, arts, etc) did you do growing up? girl scouts, dance, piano lessons, oboe lessons, track, volleyball, tennis
How about during HS? Band, Musical, Track, Volleyball, Soccer, Tennis, Student government and some other clubs
College? track and field, Exercise science goverment
Is there anything you did years ago that you want to get back into? well if I was still in shape to do it and had the time/money I would love to polevault still
Anything new you want to try? hmmm not that I can think of, I'd like to rock climb more, it's just hard when you have a young one
Growing up: gymnastics from 3-10, ballet/tap from 4-5, figure skating from 10-HS, softball from 4-JHS, field hockey through JHS, piano from 7+, girl scouts from 6-12, clarinet 10+, science olympiad JHS-HS, newspaper JHS.
HS: the aforementioned figure skating, piano, clarinet; add mallet percussion (think xylophone), marching band (drum major senior year), yearbook, National Honor Society, school coordinator for our American Red Cross blood drive, science olympiad.
College: concert band (are we sensing a theme here?), biology club, sorority (president senior year), three honors fraternities (music - this one was also social, biology, scientific research), campus activities board.
I'd like to get back into music. I still played with my college concert band for two years after I graduated. I ALMOST joined a professional marching band (for the Baltimore Ravens) a few years back but didn't want to lose my weekends with Brendan, which was the only time I got to see him. I wish I would have joined the Temple U pep band for basketball during grad school. I also wish I would have kept up with softball through college. I want to start skating again, too.
Now I'm really interested in quilting and sewing. I think I completed 8 or 9 quilts since this time last year, and I have two active projects (a quilt-along and a block of the month club) going on right now.
Oh, yeah, I forgot my running.
2012 Reading Challenge
Really young: brownies / girl scouts
If you were a girl in my town growing up, you played softball. There really isn't a question about it. I was a catcher for 9 years and my proudest moment may have been when I shattered a wooden bat.
I also played volleyball, ran track and did field events, I also curled.
NHS, Spanish Club, Odyssey of the Mind, SADD
In college I played rec volleyball and disc golf.
Out of college I still played rec volleyball and disc golf and I got back into curling. I have since taken another break from curling because it's very pricey, but I LOVE it.
