Need to vent before I scream
I was happy because today I am not feeling like death warmed over and had a light workload. My boss agreed on what I should work on today, which helps.
Everything was going fine till about 11. All of a sudden I had 7 problems to fix for other people - manufacturing, quality, inventory, receiving, engineering - basically every department here except for finance and purchasing. Because of this I only got 10 minutes for lunch. During this time my computer froze and had to be restarted. This caused me to lose all the work I did on a project for my boss this morning.
I share a cube with 2 other people. One has been b!tching about how no-one can do anything right and it makes her job harder, people only do things for money, blah blah blah. The other cubemate I have mentioned here before. He has been using his speakerphone constantly but only when he's dialing and the phone is ringing. Once the person he's calling answers he picks up his phone and talks very loudly. Another person in the office has been in and out of the cube talking with this same annoying and loud cubemate. Both are very loud and will sometimes talk on speakerphone to each other (all work related) - they sit 3 cubes apart.
The paging system keeps going off and it's really loud and I can't turn it down on my phone.
All I wanted to do today was catch up on my data entry which I am just now starting. I think it's time to go to my boss and see if it's possible to move me somewhere. There is currently only 1 open space in the entire building and I think that position is going to be filled soon. Logistically it doesn't make sense to swap my seat with anyone else in the office either. Ugh! Can I go home now?
