I have decided to host a luncheon for my four best girlfriends. They are amazing women and have all impacted my life in different ways and I want to treat them to an amazing afternoon. Though I am not hosting until the spring, I am trying to gather some ideas now. I am looking for any and all ideas (recipes, invitations, decorations, etc) from you creative gals out there!
Re: Amazing Women Luncheon
Pomegranate Liquor and Champagne makes an excellent luncheon drink!
Also, make each gal a "goody" bag. I'm invited to an Oscars party every year, its a group of about 8 women and the host makes each of us a fab goody bag. She gets some generic gifts (candle, lip gloss, candies) but then also picks out 1 thing specific to each person. For example if one is a dog lover, a pic frame for pet, if she knows a theme decorated in ones home she'll find something to that theme, etc. We all look forward to our Oscar Bag!
I'm a huge theme lover so maybe start with picking out a theme and base everything around that. A few ideas would be "Lunch in Paradise" and go with a tropical theme, or to theme it around the food (Moroccan, Asian, Tea, Wine/Cheese) or stick with the season and pick a flower to theme around (Lavender and Lilac could be relaxing).
What a great idea!! Can you give some more specific info? It would help me make better suggestions.
Do you want to go all out fancy, or will it be more casual?
Will it be at your house? If so, are you looking to use china or every day dishes? What is your color scheme?
If not hosting at your house, will everything have to be pre-made?
What can you tell us about your friends? I mean, what would they find special? Are any of them foodies? Chocoholics? Do they like to drink?
I will be hosting at my home. I think it can be more intimate and relaxed than if we went out. I would like to be more on the fancy side as this is a special occasion and I often have the girls over for casual lunches (sandwiches) etc. As for the girls, we all like a good cocktail and chocolate is a must. Again, I would like to go outside the box here bc this is a way to celebrate them.
I would like to do handmade invitations for each of the girls in order to set the tone... perhaps with a poem like "phenomenal woman" inside. As for decorations and color scheme, I have no ideas yet.
I also plan on reading a little letter to each friend at the luncheon explaining how much they mean to me.
