Kindle users: e-reader books from the public library
Another e-reader question:
For anyone who has a Kindle, are you able to borrow e-reader books from your local public library? I just found out it's pretty much the ONLY e-reader that is not compatible with the files of e-reader books they lend out.
Is there a LEGAL way to convert the files to put it on a Kindle or should I look into another e-reader (I like a lot of the things about the Kindle). Right now I get a lot of my books from the library so it would be nice to continue getting free books. Will the Kindle ever change to support those files or will it be specific to the Amazon Store like the IPod is to ITunes?
Re: Kindle users: e-reader books from the public library
I *think* it can read PDF's. But most libraries have e-pub.
I know the legality of calibre is questionable at best, and it's the only way I know of changing a format of an e-book.
Last I heard, amazon had no plans of adding e-pub as a format...but that could always change with demand for it. Much like the lending did.
