Can anyone provide insight on Lauderdale by the Sea
I'd appreciate any insight...We are close to booking a place for a week in Lauderdale by the Sea in April...it will be me, DH, 10 month old, my folks and my brother and his 9 yo...please confirm for me that this will be a fun time and any recommendations on things to do or places to eat would be appreciated. Are there some areas of town better than others? We are deciding between 2 places...
Thanks so much!
Re: Can anyone provide insight on Lauderdale by the Sea
your staying in Lauderdale By the Sea particularly? or just in the Fort Lauderdale area?
The Sea Watch Restaurant is a nice place to go for somewhat upscale seafood. They have a bar and lounge upstairs where you can get drinks and appetizers and they are right on the beach so you will have an awesome view the entire time.
If you planning on staying in Lauderdale By the Sea the entire time, its always nice to take a while out on the Commercial Peir. I think its $2 per person, the little ones may be free though. There are a few nice restaurants to eat by the pier as well. I prefer Ocean 101 or The Village Grille. (Aruba is also right there).
If your looking for shopping and lunch/dinner, Las Olas Blvd is about 10mins down the road and has a bunch of restaurant a little shops you can walk into. Or you could go to The Beach Place which is right on A1A but still about 10 mins.
If your parents are willing to watch the kids Downtown Fort Lauderdale has alot of bars to party at. Def recommend a cab, its long walk from LBTS.
Hope this helps, if you have any questions let me know, I was born and raised here and know alot about the area
