I got a new job!!!!!!!!!!!  As you all know, I finally finished my Master's in School Counseling after 4 long years, with the hopes of working at the high school level.  I got appointed as the Academic Advisor at a high school in NJ.  I'll mainly be doing academic and college counseling and creating programs to prepare the students better for college.  It's a low-income, mostly immigrant population, so it will be a challenge, but so exciting!!  It's a brand-new position created because these students need it the most.   I gave my notice this morning (OMG my heart was pounding)

I'm just so excited that it's much better money, better hours and way closer to home for me!! Finally!

Congrats!!! I know that having someone help you out on that transition between high school and college can be majorly beneficial. We had a guidance counselor at our high school that was amazing, but left after my freshman year, and his replacement was dreadful!! He gave me better advice as an 8th grader and freshman that I used when picking a college and career path! (Luckily our high school has him back as a principal now). Good luck with all of it! You will be helping those kids more than you know!!
