VENT: Kinda long... Irresponsible pet owners

I'm an animal lover and have a cat myself but... I'm about to find and KILL the cat that keeps spraying my car/carport and sh!tting on my back porch!!! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

The spraying has been going on for a while but for the last couple of months I have been finding sh!t piles all over the place. This morning when I walked out the door to drive DH to work I stepped in a pile that was on the mat in front of the door!

We have lived here about a year and a half and since the fall I have noticed 3 cats that roam around our neighborhood. One lives on my neighbor's porch but she claims it's not hers and that it's just a stray.... you named him, provide him a box for shelter, got him neutered and bring him to the vet to get shots every year AND you feed him, HE'S YOURS.... just cause you don't let him in the house doesn't mean he's a stray.

And the other two ARE someones pets otherwise I don't understand why they are wearing collars and bells....

I have tried spraying things in the carport and moth balls but nothing is keeping them away!!!

Re: VENT: Kinda long... Irresponsible pet owners

  • I love animals too, but I want a large tree branch to fall on my neighbor's dog who yips constantly the entire time we or our dogs (who do not bark) are in our backyard.  THE WHOLE TIME.

Its okay to be a pet lover, but wish that some pets would mysteriously disappear.

  • I'm with ya. I love animals, but we used to wish the dog next door would find a puddle of antifreeze. Then one day he did die (old age) and my parents and I had a party.
  • We are having a very similar problem, and I totally agree, and often vent the same things!  The house next to us has been vacant for a while, and there are woods next to that...so it is a great place for stray cats to live, evidently.  There are five or six of them that are "regulars" around here, and make me crazy.

Since we don't have a fence, our poor dog has to be on a leash in our backyard (she's an indoor dog, but when she goes out to use the restroom or get some fresh air, she goes on a 16-20 foot leash).  They will constantly walk by and taunt her...or just sit and stare at her.

The latest thing they're doing is one of them will sit on our front door step and make these awful cat call noises, to which my dog comes absolutely unglued.  I feel so awful for her, because this is her house and they are totally invading her space.

I also can smell that they're spraying out there, which is really starting to get to me!

I tried pouring vinegar on the front porch, and they just came right back.  I've heard mothballs don't really work, and I think they're poisonous, so I don't want to go that route.

If anyone has any humane ways to get cats to stay off your property, please share!  Sounds like there are at least a couple of us who might benefit from your wisdom :)

  • That sucks im sorry....I would hate this too.....

just dont ever let it push you too far....

my brother's dog was the victim of antifreze poisoning.....only they didnt know it...the neighbor did it over a long period of time...we cant prove it but he had a neruological/seizure disorder that can be caused by the same chemical compounds...he wasnt a barker, or a trouble, the neighbor was just a b!tch...

and my sisters's cat died unexpectedly while her MIL was watching the house while they got engaged....vet said that the only reason nikki would have drank all her water and eaten no food was if she had been poisoned and dehydrated.....imagine coming home from an engagement dinner to find your cat dead on your bed :(

    people are sick......
