After the new I heard yesterday about my old classmate, I wasn't really emotional per say, but was just, you know... thinking about things.
Anyway, I stopped at McDonald's for lunch, and was in the drive-thru waiting on my cookies and a straw. I happened to notice 2 guys in fatigues walking toward their car. Back behind the parking lot is a warehouse loading dock. There was a guy up on the loading dock and he yelled out to the 2 guy and said, "Hey guys! Good job! Thanks for all you do! and gave them a big smile and a thumbs-up.
And, I totally got a little misty-eyed. There really are still some good people in this world. Even that little gesture... it just made my day.
And then I laughed at myself a bit (thinking how the lady at the drive-thru window probably thought the fat girl was crying because she didn't have her cookies yet!) lol
Re: So, yeah, I totally got misty-eyed in the McDonald's Drive-Thru
LOL Oh Tisha....no pip of the guys?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!
Seriously though, that was really nice of that guy to say something. It's always good to be reminded once in awhile that there really are nice people out there.
I would've gotten misty eyed if I had seen that, too...if it makes you feel any better! In fact, at this point, it may have been full on tears!

DH likes to pay for the food orders and/or tanks of gas for military men and women, cops, firefighters, nurses, and those poor, exhausted women you see everywhere who just radiate "single mom barely managing to hold it together". Our kids have always rolled their eyes, but I have noticed them starting to pay attention and offer their own kinds of support and help to others when they see a need for it. I get misty eyed over that all the time. It makes me so proud to see that his kindness and generosity are being passed on and will continue into the next generation.
OK, where's the freaking tissue...?
I loved Tisha's story, and I love this example too! Thanks for sharing!
I love you a little bit for this.
DH is in the military, so I am constantly tearing up at events sending troops off, or welcoming them back.
