Vent: Seriously?!?!
As you ladies know I have been sick the past couple of days and did not go to work. I came in early both days to drop off lesson plans and get everything set up for my sub. Tuesday was fine. The sub did as asked and everything looked great! Yesterday...not so much. I walk in to find my instrument bingo out on the top of my music cart (I do not have a classroom so I have a cart that I use to put stuff on to go class to class) so of course I am pissed. I look at the lesson plans and no notes about anything.
So I thought maybe there wasn't a sub because I had tried calling the stupid subfinder line for our corporation for two hours and could not get through. I called my principal and she said she would take care of it. Well I found out I have a sub because she stopped me in the hall today and said she couldn't find anything that I had wanted her to do so she just did instrument bingo. She asked if that was okay. I said sure, but that everything she needed was on the cart she had pushed around all day! I even had post-its on everything specifying the class it was to be used in! So not only are my classes one day behind because she couldn't read the damn post-its, but I had a sub who obviously does not care what a teacher asks of her to do in the teacher's absence! So angry!!!
P.S. I know subbing for any music class is hard, but I water down my lesson plans so there truly is no excuse. Oh and I refuse to have a movie be my go to sub lesson plan. I hate showing movies in music class! People have such negative views of music teachers who do that too much so I rarely do that.
