I work in communications - its ok, when we have Kids I plan to stay home until the youngest is in school all day - then I'd like to either work for the school system in order to have summers off with the kids, or help my husband with his company depending on his needs at that time.

Honda Pilot - I LOVE it, just bought it before the wedding so it will be around for at least 5+ years

We're in a 2 floor condo - its perfect for right now because we dont have any exterior maintenance, but we plan to purchase a single family home in 2-3 years

I am a computer systems auditor. It's interesting, sometimes boring (as most jobs are) but it has its merits. I never thought I would end up where I am, I just kind of did?

I have a TSX and I love it. I would get another one in a heartbeat!

It's a co-op so similar to a condo that I owned before we were married. It's large enough for us for now and definitely cheap enough so we'll stick around for another year I think and then trade up to a single family house.

I think maybe in 2 - 3 years. H wants to wait longer, but I feel like time is not on my side (am in my early 30s ) so hopefully it will be closer to 2 years. No names picked out. It actually freaks me out a little when babies are named before they are born. I know it sounds crazy, but it does. I agree that it's good to have ideas, but to know finally and unequivocally that your child will be named something freaks me out.

medical assistant, but mainly secretary work....it pays the bills...i would like to go back to school either for social work or culinary

I love it, and have been here for almost four years. I'm in school getting my second B.A. I'd like to do something in the history field someday.
What kind of car do you have? Do you love it? Planning on upgrading any time soon? A 2002 Honda Civic. It's okay, runs all right. Not planning on getting a new car since H will be the only one who drives it after we move in April.

I am a Software Engineer. I love my job, all though it can be extremely stressful. It's definitely a career job. I doubt I'll ever leave this company.

2008 Ford Escape 4WD. I love my car; it goes through snow like a hot knife through butter, which is great for Colorado. I don't plan on selling it anytime soon. I'm hoping it'll last until like 2018...

We have a 2 bedroom townhouse that we bought in 2009. No major renovations, we might replace the bathroom sink and possibly the carpet. But we plan to move end of 2012 or beginning of 2013 to a place with more bedrooms for babies, so I'm still debating on the carpet. It's icky though.

H and I want to TTC later this year. Start trying in Oct/November. We'll probably have at least 2, max 3. And my first born daughter we be named "Anna Josephine" after my mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother

2003 Nissan Altima... It has been fantastic, but I have my eye on a small SUV. Haven't narrowed it down yet, and don't really want to take on the payment at the moment, so we'll wait a little longer before getting me a new car.

House... we bought in August 2009, and are finally taking on some renovation tasks, like updating the flooring. It was alright before, but white carpet is just asking for trouble! We love our house though, and it's big enough that we could stay there forever if we wanted, so unless we leave Dallas, we'll be there a while.

I'd like to start trying by the end of this year... but we haven't talked concretely about it, and I currently work too much to think about kids. We used to say we wanted 2-3 kids, but now I'm thinkng 1-2. I'd really love to have twins
If we have a boy, he'll be named after DH, because DH is a Second (not a Jr), so we'll have James III, and I'm thinking we'll call him Jay (instead of Trey). For girls, I like Ella and Olivia... but I change my mind alot. I'm not sure I'll tell anyone our final decisions, because I also thing it's kind of weird to have it finalized before the baby arrives. (And I've also heard it's bad luck, although I think I'm the only person who has ever heard that!)

I'm an Advancement Assistant (fund raising) right now at a University. I'm actually applying for jobs right now in the field of event planning though. It's my favorite aspect of my current job and I thought I'd try it out for a living.

No car. H has a manual that I detest. We may end up getting a hybrid car in a year or so.

Honda Accord, 1994!! H wants to upgrade my car soon but we need to do it wisely so we don't just add a huge car payment to our lives (as you can imagine, a '94 Accord has long been paid off).

By this summer. We'd love to have 4 or even 5. Rachel, some of your names listed are very, very nice! H and I usually agree on names but I think it will be more difficult once the day comes.
Some of the names we've discussed: Julia, Therese, Tessa, Noelle, Natalia, Edward, Timothy, etc. Unfortunately, some of our names have already been taken so the list keeps getting shorter. For example. we now have TWO baby Ben's in our lives and Benjamin was a top boy pick for us. I've also nixed a fave of his: Clare, because there are so many Clare's in his fam. And we cannot do an E name for girls as we are stumbling over too many E names already (Elizabeth, Evelyn, Elise, etc). Oh, and NO James or John... we must have 8 in our families combined lol.

I've been temporarily adminning a website. I was in strategic planning in finance, but I don't know if that industry will ever be what it was. If we move to India, I will start a dance/pilates studio.

An RSX and I love it! I don't want a different car. If we have to get a 4 door some day DH wants a Range Rover, but I don't like to drive giant cars.

We live in a 1 br apartment. We're planning to move into a 2 br this year (hopefully before my ILs come). Buying in this area? LOL not any time soon! We are considering moving to India in the future and we would like to buy a home in DH's hometown.

DH wants me to decide this year if I want kids and then if so TTC next year. I might want one. I couldn't pick a name ahead of time... but I have been firm that I get to name any kids, not MIL. In DH's culture, the family often calls the child a different name than his/her given name. i.e., mom names him Steven and grandma decides she like Paul better and just calls him that.

I am a Wedding and Lifestyle Photographer and I love it. I just went full-time in my business this past November and am starting to see how much business work I do during the day - it's truly a 8 hour a day job! This career choice found me and I'm looking forward to sticking with it for a very long time!

I have Ford Taurus that's older but has great mileage. I don't love it, but it gets me from place to place. I would definitely like to upgrade to a SUV-type vehicle, which the hubs and I have been talking about doing in the next year.

We live in a 3 bedroom apartment with my sister-in-law and we love it. It's nice to have someone else around every now and again. No major renovations at the moment, as we're forced into a pretty larger number of rules. We would like to hope in the next two years to find ourselves in a house, though.

I've been off birth control for years and we don't protect so we're hoping to see something fabulous come from it all in the next couple of months! We don't have a fixed idea on the number of children we want - we come from larger close-knit families and feel compelled to hold on to the large family idea that tends to be going the way of the dodo these days. We do, however, only have two names picked out, one boy and one girl: Mackenzie Jolee for a girl and Christopher Finnegan (we'll call him Finn) for a boy.

I'm a consultant who mainly does data analysis and project management. It's OK - I like the analysis portion better than the project management. Already went to grad school, so no plans to go back. Would love to drop to part time or stay at home when we have kids.

An X3. Just got it this past summer because I needed a bigger car for the dog. It' pretty good - I wish it had Bluetooth. Love the way it drives, but I do miss my sporty coupe I had.

I'm a team lead at a workers' comp company. It's a lot of admin work. I like the work that I do, but the drive is getting to me. I'm looking for work closer to home. I'm thinking of registering for classes in the fall, but no idea what I want to do still.

I have an '03 Ford Expedition. I do love it, but the commute is killing me. In the past year, I've put about 20K miles on it. We spend about $100 a week in gas. So, we're definitely looking for a car for me. DH is pushing me to get more of a luxury car while I just want something to get me from point A to point B.

I'm a Senior Interior Designer and Architectural Designer. I love parts of it, but I am at a firm that kind of takes advantage of hours. It's a discipline wide problem, lots of overtime no compensation. I've been doing it for so long I don't know what else I would do, but I dream of a lot of other things, mainly creative sorts of things or being my pwn boss.

Honda Element- yup - best car for dogs in the world. I get the next classic car the DH rebuilds. I'd like a Nash metropolitan or a 57 Ford Thunderbird.

I am a school counselor at an elementary school in a neighboring county. I love it! It's the field my degree is in. No plans for any career switches.

We're a 1-car family and only have my 2003 Chevy Malibu. It's paid off and still runs great despite being just shy of 100,000 miles. DH keeps mentioning wanting to get a second car in the next year or two, but I have no idea why, as he is able to walk to his job everyday.

We live in a condo owned by DH's parents and we pay them rent. No plans to move until DH graduates, which will hopefully be in 2013. He's a PhD candidate.

In a perfect world, DH will graduate in 2013 and find a tenure-track position at a small liberal arts college somewhere in the southeast. We'll move to wherever that is, buy a house, and then start TTC.

I just got my degree in Interior Design. I am currently working at a bank while H and I decide if we are relocating out of state or not. Once we decide I will then look for a design job which will be a career.

I would LOVE to start now but its not the right time, especially if we are moving. We will probably start trying at the end of next year/beginning of 2013. I really want to own a house before having a baby .... we'll just have to see how it goes.

I am a RN and I work in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. (shout out to fallbride!) I have been a nurse for almost 12 years now & love it. I don't see myself going back to school to become a nurse practitioner. I was telling H that if I ever did another career I'd like to become a dog trainer. So random, I know.

I have a 09 Hyundai Santa Fe. It was all I could afford after I totaled my other SUV about a year and a half ago. It's a good car, plus it handled really well in the bad snow & ice storm we had a couple of weeks ago (this is Texas people, we don't get that kind of weather here!) No plans to upgrade.

We live in a rental house for now. H & I decided to settle in Fort Worth (I moved from Houston). I tried to sell my house back home but couldn't so I had to rent it out. Hopefully once we get that house sold we can buy one of our own here (Fort Worth) in the next year or two.

This is our first month of trying. I get to take a HPT in a few days to see if we have a little one on the way or not. Because of my line of work and what I have seen I don't care how many kids we have, whether they are boys or girls, I TRULY just want them to be healthy. H has picked out both names, and I like them. Girl: Zoe Elaine (Elaine is my middle name, passed down to me from my mom). Boy: Michael Ezra (Michael is H's middle name and what he goes by, Ezra was his grandfather's name.)

I'm a dance teacher and also teach in a preschool. Now that I'm on DH's health insurance, I'm trying to get more dance jobs so I can ditch the preschool. I hate it there to the point it gives me anxiety. I love dancing though. I have my BFA in Dance Ed.

Hyundai Elantra. It gets me where I need to go. I live in the city and parking is minimal so having a small car is perfect for me. I don't plan on looking into a new car until maybe we start a family.

We own a house. We plan to move within the next 5 years (although, we said that 4 years ago when we bought the house). I'd love to put some work into it and extend out the back for a bigger kitchen, another bedroom and another bathroom and finish the basement but we won't get that money back in a sale so we're better off just moving.

Next winter. I don't have any names. It's hard when you're a preschool teacher b/c you get really tired of baby names really fast. It's hard b/c I've had so many students over the years that whenever I hear a name, I think of one of them. I'll have to be creative.
^^ I'm similar to you in the name aspect... I've seen so many names in the past year after working at a Kids Club... I feel like I've seen every name and all of the ones I loved before... may be tainted due to bad impressions of other children with the name.. but I found a way to be creative
I'm tired of working with kids every day only because they yell at me and throw things at me 
I used to dance for years as well.. Wish I could be doing something like that instead!
