spectacle shoppe? (or other eye glass places...)
my son is in need of new glasses. has anyone ever purchased frames and lenses from the spectacle shoppe? what did you think?
are there other places you'd recommend?
one thing we have to consider is they variety of frames for kids (which you may not have noticed when buying for yourselves.)
i'd love to got to target optical but they don't have a huge kids selection.
ideas? thoughts?
Re: spectacle shoppe? (or other eye glass places...)
They are giving away 1000 free glasses/lenses today on coastalcontacts.com today. The code is free4all. They probably don't have a huge kid's selection but they end up only being about $14 with shipping/handling. You get one free exchange so if you don't like the glasses you choose order you could exchange them for another pair. I was really happy with the glasses I got for free with them.
Otherwise, I've liked the frames at Lenscrafters. If $$ isn't an option you could check InVision. They have excellent customer service and are excellent with finding the right glasses for your face but they seem to be pretty pricey.

I've heard that the Spectacle Shoppe has lots of really trendy frames but the prices are higher than the mass market stores like Pearl or Vision World or Lenscrafters. They have had deals on Living Social and other deal websites lately, so maybe keep an eye out to get a coupon.
Mr. Sammy Dog
we got K's glasses at the spectacle shoppe. I love them. They are higher priced though. If you (or someone you know) has a happenings book, there is a coupon in there for them.
I don't know if they're still doing this, but they were collecting old glasses for Haiti and giving a 175 gift card (more of a coupon, actually) for bringing in a pair.
We go to the New Brighton location because Brad used to work in a children's shop and we liked that he knew how to best handle fitting glasses on a 2 year old.
I personally order my glasses from zenni optical. I love them. If Kennedy was older and could tell me if her prescription was off, I'd order hers from there too. All of mine have been correct, but I'd be nervous about it being off and her not knowing. I am, however, getting her a pair of sunglasses from there this summer.
I get my glasses at Look and See Optical, but I cannot recall how large their kids' selection is. In general, they focus more on having a nice collection than having a super wide selection.

I feel like Pearle Vision, in particular the one at MOA, has a large kids' selection.
