Interview Attire Debate

Hi all,

My husband have been debating this and have differ opinions.  I was wondering what you all thought.  What do you think is more appropriate to wear to a job interview for a Human Resources Assistant position... a suit set with a matching suit jacket and skirt or a suit set with a matching suit jacket and pants?  Thanks for your help.

Re: Interview Attire Debate

  • As long as it's a suit, I really don't think skirt or pants makes a difference.

Wear whichever one YOU feel more comfortable and confident in - if you're not feelin it, it will show.

  • Whatever makes you more comfortable. I don't really factor in the job title (unless it's a super casual or nonprofessional job). Wear a suit, and wear one that you like. Skirt or pants don't matter.

  • I agree with the others.  Wear the one that makes you feel the most confident.

  • Provided the skirt is an appropriate length, either is equally fine.
  • Either. Or, you could take a pic of yourself wearing both and we can tell you what looks best..
  • I would say the suit jacket and pants.  HR likes to see candidates covered up.  I'm sure both are nice options and looks great, but I would opt for the pants.  I work in HR as well.
