Need restaurant recs, please!

You might remember me from a few months ago asking around about apartments.  Well, we found one and we've been in Decatur for about a month and so far so good.  I hope to get to know enough about the area to become a regular :)

Anyway, I need restaurant recs.  Specifically, I need to find a casual, not too expensive, Italian restaurant with amazing food that is independently owned/not a chain.  Don't care where it is but it can't be $20 an entree.

Then I was thinking... since the weather is going to be so beautiful this weekend, I'd love to find a place where you can sit outside.  Preferably downtown/midtown with good people watching.  When we lived in Rochester NY there was this street called Park Ave and it was all restaurants and little shops, very quaint and awesome.  I guess I'm kind of looking for something like that.

I tried Googling, but I think my criteria was too specific, haha.
