Re: BOTB
1st trimester: Have you bought anything for your little one yet or are you waiting until the 2nd trimester (or later)? If so, what? We haven't purchased anything for #2 yet. If it's a boy, we're pretty much set and won't need to really get anything. For DS, I bought a couple of gender neutral outfits when we first found out and then pretty much waited until later.
2nd trimester: How are you feeling about your pregnant body? Do you avoid mirrors or look every chance you get? What does your partner think about it?I'm feeling pretty 'eh' about it. I think I felt better with DS.
3rd trimester: If you played any games at your shower, what were some of the crowd favorites?no showers
L&D: What did you bring to the hospital? Did you overpack or underpack?some changes of clothes for me and DH and a going home outfit for DS.
First days: When and what was your first call to the pediatrician? We called the on-call dr around midnight when DS was about 2 weeks old. All the paperwork that the hospital sends home with you says to call if the baby is breathing rapidly (more than 60 breaths/minute). DS was breathing really fast for hours- we were counting upwards of 75 breaths/minute. They said it was normal.
TTC: Does your family know you?re TTC or are you keeping it a secret until you have a BFP? Our family knew. We didn't keep it a secret.
1st trimester: Have you bought anything for your little one yet or are you waiting until the 2nd trimester (or later)? If so, what? I actually purchased 2 onesies to tell J we were PG, but he found out when I did, so they were just gifts to him.
2nd trimester: How are you feeling about your pregnant body? Do you avoid mirrors or look every chance you get? What does your partner think about it? I dealt with some body issues, but I learned to embrace my body for what it was doing. It was getting bigger for a very good reason and I had to accept and embrace that.
3rd trimester: If you played any games at your shower, what were some of the crowd favorites? This weekend, we're playing The Price is Right Baby, Match the Celebrity with the strange baby name they named their child, and a cool memory game.
TTC: Does your family know you?re TTC or are you keeping it a secret until you have a BFP? No one knew since we barely knew ourselves. I think most people were shocked to find out after our BFP even though they knew we wanted to have children eventually.
1st trimester: Have you bought anything for your little one yet or are you waiting until the 2nd trimester (or later)? If so, what? We still haven't purchased anything for LO yet, except for some yarn I am using to knit a blanket. A few people have gifted us some things. We are waiting until after the shower to purchase what we need to avoid buying frivolous items.
2nd trimester: How are you feeling about your pregnant body? Do you avoid mirrors or look every chance you get? What does your partner think about it? I was definitely not comfortable at first with the changes to my body, especially my ginormous tatas. I have only started to accept my body in the last two weeks now that I look visibly pregnant instead of fat. DH loves my pregnant body, especially the tatas, lol.
3rd trimester: If you played any games at your shower, what were some of the crowd favorites? Shower is next month, but I have heard through the grapevine that they may be playing the guess the melted chocolate bar in the diaper game. That should be interesting!
1st trimester: Have you bought anything for your little one yet or are you waiting until the 2nd trimester (or later)? If so, what? We bought a teddy bear when we were in Paris and very early pg, and I've bought a couple babysteals items (ergo and sleepers). We buy little things as we want them. I've never believed in "jinxing" myself. We've gotten lots of clothing, stuffed animals, a moses basket, etc from family. My dad sent an Auburn National Champs onesie right away
2nd trimester: How are you feeling about your pregnant body? Do you avoid mirrors or look every chance you get? What does your partner think about it? I am just starting to get a pooch in my tummy that I cannot suck in. I'm pretty obsessed with looking in the mirror at it right now. It will be interesting to see how things progress in the next few months, since I'm just on the cusp/entering my 2nd tri.
TTC: Does your family know you?re TTC or are you keeping it a secret until you have a BFP?
Didn't TTC, but neither PGs have been surprising. Although we told (and meant) that we wanted to wait 5 years it ended up being 4 years after marriage for #1; we'd told people we wanted 3 years in between so all were ready for #2's announcement.
1st trimester: Have you bought anything for your little one yet or are you waiting until the 2nd trimester (or later)? If so, what?
If #2's a boy we are set because he would be born within days of J's birthdate. If it's a girl we will need clothes! Bought a cute little Hawaiian dress just in case while in Hawaii, didn't want to regret not getting one if it's a girl. Planning on buying newborn cloth diapers soon.
2nd trimester: How are you feeling about your pregnant body? Do you avoid mirrors or look every chance you get? What does your partner think about it?
I love being PG, especially 2 tri when the belly is showing but not getting too big yet
3rd trimester: If you played any games at your shower, what were some of the crowd favorites?
Played a fun game naming book covers, I think I got that from someone on the nest but I forget who...
L&D: What did you bring to the hospital? Did you overpack or underpack?
My fan and lemon lime Gatorade were my saviors.
First days: When and what was your first call to the pediatrician?
Don't remember!
Updates:
NT scan Tuesday, I'm not looking forward to it. At my last appt they used the ultrasound for the heartbeat and I wanted to crawl out of my skin, the pressure hurt so bad on my c/s scar. I told her to stop and do the internal ultrasound!
TTC: Does your family know you?re TTC or are you keeping it a secret until you have a BFP? We kept it a secret.
1st trimester: Have you bought anything for your little one yet or are you waiting until the 2nd trimester (or later)? If so, what? I wasn't waiting for the 2nd trimester, but I really didn't buy anything at all for the first few months. I knew I would have 2 large showers, so we registered for everything we needed. I figured that if I started buying things like clothes and toys, it would be a slippery slope to an empty bank account!
2nd trimester: How are you feeling about your pregnant body? Do you avoid mirrors or look every chance you get? What does your partner think about it? I was pretty uncomfortable about the all-over weight gain, but I liked the round belly. He loved the changes- he was very good about reassuring me that I wasn't gaining too much.
3rd trimester: If you played any games at your shower, what were some of the crowd favorites? We played gift bingo at both- it was my request, since it takes a little bit of attention off of me during gift opening. At my first one, we also played one where you had to guess what baby-related products were in a series of brown paper bags that were passed around- that was fun!
Updates: I had my 38-week appointment yesterday. No progress, so we're in the waiting game. I'm getting more uncomfortable, but trying to enjoy my last few weeks of pregnancy, since it's still fun to feel the baby move, hiccup, etc. The PUPPPS has died down (THANK GOD!!!) and it's only mildly irritating now, instead of a constant, obsessive, crawl-out-of-my-skin, unbearable condition. That was not a fun 4 weeks for me.

TTC: Does your family know you?re TTC or are you keeping it a secret until you have a BFP? they pretty much knew
1st trimester: Have you bought anything for your little one yet or are you waiting until the 2nd trimester (or later)? If so, what? I waited until 2nd tri, and then only bought a few things until after the 20 week u/s
2nd trimester: How are you feeling about your pregnant body? Do you avoid mirrors or look every chance you get? What does your partner think about it? I liked my pg body, mostly bc I really do think I was ALL baby. At the end, I was huge, but it was still all tummy/baby
3rd trimester: If you played any games at your shower, what were some of the crowd favorites?
L&D: What did you bring to the hospital? Did you overpack or underpack? I think we did a good job packing. Wish we had packed a pair of non work shoes for John... he came straight from work and needed someone to go get him his vans. we should have just packed a pair in the bag. I didn't end up wearing much of my clothing since i had a c/s and the thought of pants was horrific. the iPad was our savior! I watched netflix on it the first night of my induction and we played music on it during labor
First days: When and what was your first call to the pediatrician? After we had been home 2 days. Ellie was NOT eating. we were supposed to wake her up to eat every 2 hours and she just would not eat one morning, we could not wake her up. pedi was nice about it, she said as long as she didn't go another feeding we were OK.

TTC: Does your family know you?re TTC or are you keeping it a secret until you have a BFP?
My family knows we want to start TTC soon, they don't realize it's happening right now, or they do and I'm just denying it
DH's family has no clue and I fear they might be upset if we do get a BFP in the near future. My BFF and two girls at work know we actively TTC.
My bday is next week, and Todd let me know I'm getting an iPad (except, he wants to wait a little bit and get the iPad2 when/if it comes out soonish)...he was telling me how great it will be for me when on maternity leave. So, I told him about how you were watching it in your photos (in your birth story)...anyway, this is good to know is all I wanted to say
TTC: Does your family know you?re TTC or are you keeping it a secret until you have a BFP? Our families/friends had no idea. My family thought heII froze over, since they never expected me to have children.
1st trimester: Have you bought anything for your little one yet or are you waiting until the 2nd trimester (or later)? If so, what? I didn't buy anything until around 21 weeks (when we found out baby is a girl).
2nd trimester: How are you feeling about your pregnant body? Do you avoid mirrors or look every chance you get? What does your partner think about it? I do struggle a bit with the weight gain. I was overweight about 8 years ago and had to work hard to lose the weight... so it's definitely hard to see the numbers climb on the scale. Most people are kind and say they can't tell and that it's all baby, but I think they are being nice
DH doesn't mind at all, and tries to reassure me when I feel huge.
3rd trimester: If you played any games at your shower, what were some of the crowd favorites? Shower is this weekend!! Can't wait! One game I believe will occur is gift bingo. I'm not sure of the others.
John thought about waiting too, but he follows all the rumor blogs and never heard a rumor about the next one (he wanted to make sure we had it before baby came).
and yeah, one hand browsing while nursing and reading books in the kindle app is pretty awesome.

TTC: Does your family know you?re TTC or are you keeping it a secret until you have a BFP?
Only my mom knows. And my best friend. We're trying to keep it as secret as we can!
1st trimester: Have you bought anything for your little one yet or are you waiting until the 2nd trimester (or later)? If so, what? I bought some life factory bottles and a sling off of gilt.com before I was pg. I didn't buy anything during the first tri for the baby.
2nd trimester: How are you feeling about your pregnant body? Do you avoid mirrors or look every chance you get? What does your partner think about it? Now that it feels like a pregnant body instead of a chubby one I feel good about it. I definitely look a lot and love any comments I get from H. I've been told it's all belly and that I look huge in the same day, I'm not really loving those comments. H is pretty into it, he loves the fact that I'm incubating our baby.
TTC: Does your family know you?re TTC or are you keeping it a secret until you have a BFP?
My family knew

I will or will not depending on the gender until later. 2nd trimester: How are you feeling about your pregnant body? Do you avoid mirrors or look every chance you get? TTC: Does your family know you?re TTC or are you keeping it a secret until you have a BFP? family didn't know we were TTC. in fact, they didn't know about BFP till i was nearly 5.5 months along.
1st trimester: Have you bought anything for your little one yet or are you waiting until the 2nd trimester (or later)? If so, what? we didn't buy anything till we were more than halfway baked. i am due in less than 3 weeks, and we still haven't bought that much.
2nd trimester: How are you feeling about your pregnant body? Do you avoid mirrors or look every chance you get? What does your partner think about it? i am fine with my pregnant body. i don't go out of my way to look in mirrors, but when i go by shop windows, i realize how huge i am and i am impressed. DH refers to me as a big balogna, but all in loving jest.
3rd trimester: If you played any games at your shower, what were some of the crowd favorites? no showers.
