Lexington Whole Foods Question

Does anyone know if there's a place to find coupons for Whole Foods in Lexington?  Or another similar grocery to shop in the area that might be cheaper?

I have a newly developed allergy to soy and it's been a big hassle trying to find foods I can eat.  DH and I usually shop at Meijer and go to Whole Foods at Lexington Green sometimes for specific items, but everything there is so expensive.  We're on a tight budget right now.

Would love ideas if you have any.  :)

Re: Lexington Whole Foods Question

  • I wish I knew! I'd love to shop regularly at Whole Foods (I may actually do the grocery shopping then), but it's just not in the budget.  Sorry I'm no help.

  • Aw, that's okay!  I wish Whole Foods was cheaper so we could just do all of our shopping there.  It would make things easier.  They have a few soy-free items that I can't find elsewhere (ranch salad dressing, yum!), but they're expensive.  This food allergy has been such a pain.

  • I didn't realize soy was in that much.  I know someone that had to go on a gluten AND dairy-free diet to rule out allergies.  Good luck!

  • Thank you!  Unfortunately, soybean oil and soy lecithin are in almost everything.  I didn't realize it either until I developed the allergy and had to avoid it altogether.  I've been on a strict diet since Oct. and it's been a big lifestyle change, but I'm finally starting to get used to it.  But wow...I can't imagine having to cut out both gluten and dairy!  That sounds really difficult.

  • Have you checked out the Good Foods Coop. They have a great supply of whole, organic and specialty foods and its locally owned.
  • Sorry, I just now saw this.  I keep forgetting to check this board.

No, I hadn't heard of the Good Foods Coop.  But thanks for mentioning it!  I'll definitely check it out.  I'm actually looking at their website right now, but I might stop by there sometime this weekend to see what they have.
