titanic on abc family

I remember how excited everyone was about this movie when it came out. . .I think I was a freshman in high school.  DH is out playing poker with his buddies, so I'm playing on the computer, planning our Ireland trip.  The Titanic stopped at Cobh, Ireland, before it set sail for New York.  Cobh is scheduled to be one of our stops, because it is also where DH's grandparents left for New York when they moved to the US.

Before this, I watched Serendipity (love John Cusack), and Dirty Dancing.  What's everyone's favorite guilty pleasure movie?

This summer (late July - early August).  Summer isn't my most ideal time, but I work in a school and get a month off during the summer every year.  We're going to London, Dublin, Cork, Castletownbere (the small town my DH's family is from), and other as-yet-unidentified places.

  • We are going in May and I can't wait.. We are flying into Dublin and driving to Galway, Dingle, Cork and Kilkenny. Of course we will be stoping at other place on the way to each..

I Have been to London if you have any questions.

I tell you renting a car in Ireland has been the biggest pain.

  • Definitely tell me how the car thing goes.  We really don't want to rent a car, but we're not sure if we can go all of the places we want to go on the train/bus system, especially with all of our luggage.

But I've been researching rental cars, and the costs (and the gas!) seem outrageous.

  • Yeah and don't forget you have to include The rental company's CDW (collision damage waver) on any rental car. This is what is making the cost so horrible.
  • Are you going to be staying in hotels or B&Bs ?? If you want I can send you the places we are staying in Dublin and Cork.
  • I LOVE Serendipity!  It's one I only had on VHS and haven't replaced on DVD yet, I should do that.  But OMG I love Titanic.  I saw it a ridiculous number of times in the theater, I want to say 5 at least.  I never even cared that much about the whole romance story, I just loved the story of the ship and passengers and all the emotion *sigh*  I'm really sad I forgot it was on tonight lol.  Another one I should perhaps buy ;)
