would you eat it?

So I was thinking ahead and made tonight's Chili dinner last night. DH said he's put it in the fridge in 30 mins (after it cooled some) so I could go to bed. I wake up this morning and it's ON.THE.STOVE. *sigh*

Long day at work, come home to feed, play and bathe DD, meeting tonight = no time for new dinner. I don't want to eat it, I know DH will think nothing of it "after we boil the heck out of it". What's your vote?   Would you toss it? Would you let DH eat it?

I was going to share it...but now way now!!

Re: would you eat it?

  • Was there a lid on it?  If yes- possibly if it looked okay. If no- then no.  My grandma to this day cooks starting in the morning and then leaves it on the stove all day to be warmed up when you want something to eat.  But she always had it covered.  So.. eh... I would.

  • Sorry, but I probably wouldn't.  Unless, it's really cold in your house, then I might.

Wait...just reread the question.  If he wants to eat it, I'd let him.  He'll be the sick one not you.  (IF there happens to be anything in it to make him sick.  If he's like my DH, he'll probably be fine.)

  • If it were covered, I would since it was only over one night.  If it was more than 8 hours - no way.
  • Nope.  Anything left on the counter for more than a 2 hours would go in the trash.  I would order pizza tonite.  :)
