It's Monday! Am I the only one at work today?

Grrrr.....no day off for me! Is anyone out there?

Mine was good, but sad. Good because Saturday was my Mom and Step-Dad's 25 anniversary, and I found the perfect gift (an antique silver tea service that she had mentioned wanting for the last couple of years) for them. We had an awesome day on Saturday.

And sad, because I found out yesterday that one of my BFF's and her husband of almost 11 years are headed for divorce, and it looks like it's going to be a nasty one...sigh...

How were your weekends??

Re: It's Monday! Am I the only one at work today?

  • I'm here.  Going to have lunch with a friend later possibly and maybe run a few errands.  It's raining out today, so I really kinda want to veg out but I also want to shop.

Our weekend was good.  Friday night DH didn't get off work until almost 7 so we just hung out at home.

Saturday we picked up our wedding album (version 3 and still having issues) and finaly ordered our pics.  Then we went and visited family and went to dinner with my parents.

Sunday we went to church then laid around all afternoon.  We did go to Cold Stone after dinner though, so that was nice.

This is H's late week again, so we won't see each other much.  Plus he told me this morning he thinks he's getting an ear infection.  I wish the stupid germs would leave our house for good!

  • I'm here!  Even after we got almost 9 inches of snow yesterday!  Seems everything else is closed today...going to be a LONG day!

  • I'm here, and I'm a government employee! Apparently President's Day doesn't count. And it's a miracle that I made it in on time because our power went out last night, but I still managed to wake up 1 minute before my alarm was supposed to go off.

This weekend was good, it was all around kind of lazy. DH made me pancakes yesterday and I didn't even have to ask! That was a bonus.  Otherwise we ran some errands then hung around the house. I got some more sewing in and DH finally started his wood carving project. I can't wait to see it when he is done.

I also got my new passport in the mail with my married name! Yay! That was the absolutely last thing that I needed to change, and now when we visit my sister in NY this summer and go to Canada I'll be traveling with my new name.

  • I'm barely here. So did not want to come into work today....

The weekend was a very emotional one. Friday night, DH and I didn't do much. Saturday, we met with the family that was going to take the cat. I think it was actually harder on DH than me. Saturday night, we found out that one of the kids is allergic to cats so we had to take the cat back. So we are now searching for another home. During all this, I think the stress, emotions of the week, etc caused me to get sick. So I am down and out for the count....

Hope everyone has a good week! Thinking of you ladies who have to deal with all that snow yet again....

  • I'm here, although, as my Facebook status said this morning..."I don't wanna...".

This weekend was pretty lazy for me as well. I was entirely planning on cooking supper Friday night after I cleaned the kitchen, but right after I got done cleaning, Jeff called and said he wanted to take me out to supper. So, yay! No cooking plus I got to have my FAVORITE steak at the local bar/grill. It is a sirloin that is marinated in this Whiskey Bourbon sauce. It is delicious, and doesn't taste like whiskey at all. Yum-o!

Saturday late morning I went and worked out, then vegged out watching Grey's Anatomy on Netflix (they now have ALL seasons of it on instant!!!) while Jeff went with a farmer buddy to look at a new semi. Fun, fun (insert eye-roll here)...That night I made the beer-butt chicken, which was fabulous as always!! : )

Yesterday, I was VERY lazy all morning and most afternoon, watching DVDs of Sex & the City. I then MADE myself go run. I am now officially on Week 2 of Couch to 5K. : ) Last night I made pot roast in my pressure cooker for the first time ever using it, and it turned out just awesomely! I was really excited about it. A pull-apart roast done in an hour...I'll take it! : )

This week is going to be somewhat hectic with crop insurance crap just around the corner, so I have to get ready for all of that. Other than that, just volleyball and workouts! : ) And TV of course! Hahahahah! : )

  • Aw, sorry to hear about your friend.

We had a nice weekend, pretty relaxing. Saturday I went fabric shopping to get some stuff to make clothes and accessories for DH's sister who is having a baby in April. The rest of the night Jeremy and I just hung out, watched tv and got to bed early.

Yesterday we slept late (eek! we didn't even mean to!) and when we got up it was time for the Daytona 500. We had some friends over to watch the race, and had a great time. Dale Jr. crashed towards the end and I was pretty devastated, but it was a great race none the less.

Today I am going to sew, and help my BFF make baby shower invitations for her sister who is due in May. Hope everyone else has a good day!

  • I'm here!

We had a productive weekend. Friday night DH & SD grouted the tile in the laundry room. I'm so excited to have my laundry room back & the tile looks fab! Of course we couldn't move everything back in there until Sunday.

On Saturday SD & I went on a picnic & to the park with one of her friends & her mom (friend's mom not SD'd mom). Then we went by to see DH's cousin & her cute 4 month old baby girl. Awww, she gave me baby fever. Wink Then home to make a birthday cake (chocolate pound cake with a mocha-chocolate drizzle) for my dad & SIL's birthday celebration. Then I passed out in bed from exhaustion.

Sunday we had lunch with my parents & celebrated the forementioned birthdays. We came home & watched the end of the Daytona 500. It was awesome!!! I washed clothes, well all went to the gym & then home again for a easy supper & veged until bedtime. Whew!

  • Another disgruntled government employee here wondering why we are open??

We had a great weekend. Saturday we went out on our friends' boat for the first time this year - it's been so cold we haven't been able to go so it was really great to be out there. Then yesterday we got up really early and ran all sorts of errands. I was crossing off my to-do list like a mad woman!

  • My company is open too! We used to have off this day but they switched it to MLK day starting last year. I have really nothing to do today. No meetings, can't call people I need to because they are off, and waiting for my boss' response on some things and she's off today too. I am using the snow as an excuse to work from home, so I'm spending the day surfing the net and reading.

My weekend was good. On Saturday the weather was awful here - crazy windy - so I barely left the house during the day except to get a manicure. That night we went into the city to a rodizio place for DH's HS friend's bday dinner. It was absolutely delicious but crazy expensive (this friend of DH's is very well off).

Yesterday, went grocery shopping, cooked, and read. I'm in the midst of a great book so I am reading like crazy right now!

  • Danie I ditto Stacie's request for the beer butt chicken!

George-Anne I think you should put that chocolate pound cake recipe on the blog too! :-) Sounds delish!!

I'm "here" (working today) but I'm on the last couple days of doing our internal file audit which I should be finished going through the files by Wednesday! HOORAY! Going through 100 files is tiring :-P I'm going to be glad when it's done, we have our file inspection next Monday and hopefully kick ass on it!

  • I'm here!  I have too much work to take a day off :(  But at least I can listen to music out loud since no one else is here!

I worked most of the weekend, but we took a break on Saturday night when we saw Black Swan!  Holy cow that was intense, but so awesome!  I highly recommend it!  On Sunday we went out to a Spanish restaurant for flamenco dancing and paella!

  • Oh heavens no.  I'm here too.  I managed to make it in, although my drive to work is only 5 miles straight up one road to another.  Mike is home because his ride to work is long and it's too nasty out so they closed for the day.  But now that our sub is plowed he just left to go snow blow my parents' driveway.

Weekend was relaxing.  Amanda was with us all weekend so I picked her up after work on Friday and the 3 of us got Subway for dinner and we watched "Unstoppable" on demand.  Saturday we did our errands and chores then chilled until I took Amanda for a massage; there's a beautiful salon in downtown Trenton that has a spa menu for kids 8-18 so I got her one for Christmas.  :)  She loved it!  (I can proudly say I took her for her first ever massage and I think she's addicted! LOL) After that we met my parents at church and had dinner for their Hungarian night then Mike and I rented "Cop Out" and Amanda retired to "Club Penguin" online for the night.

Yesterday we all stayed in for the day and relaxed, then we dropped Amanda off and went to my parents' for dinner.  Mike did their driveway & sidewalk then we had a scary drive home!
