Crock Pot cooking time

I'm making BBQ Short Ribs in a slow cooker.

The recipe I'm using calls for "bone-in" ribs, but the ribs I have are boneless. Do you think I need to adjust the cooking time? Or just leave it?

My first guess would be to leave it as is (5 hours on high), but I figured I'd ask to be sure.

Re: Crock Pot cooking time

  • Also, I'm only using 2 lbs of ribs instead of the 4 the recipe asks for.

Should I do less than 5 hours?

  • yes, I would cut back the time.  With less meat and with them being boneless. if you needed the 5 hr cooking time, reduce it to low for 5 hours.  Or high for like 3.

  • ok thanks!

  • I agree with nooner. I'd put it on low for 5 hours. The longer you cook ribs the better they taste IMO, so I'd just turn the heat down and check them about halfway through.
