Re: Jenn B Get your butt in here....
how long do you get off of work to spend with the baby? does aaron get any paternity leave, or does he have to take his own time?
don doesn't get anything (and only has 5 sick/pto days a YEAR), his work sucks.
Thank you all so much ladies, it's so amazing to me to have so much love and support!
Adoption does qualify for FMLA. However, I've not been at my job 12 months, so I'll only get a 30 day leave DH will take his full leave though, so that'll be good. I love my job to much to leave (plus they're paying me to finish my degree).
It's been such an emotional ride so far, and the next 6 weeks I'm sure wont change that!
Jenn... I'm not sure the flexibility of your job but could you work from home for a bit too?? I think it's easily done with babies up to about six months as long as you have a fairly "easy" (ha ha) baby. This is what I hope to do if we have another baby.
Just a thought.
you might want to check anyway- when i was working for usaa, they were going to give me unpaid time off even though i didn't qualify for fmla yet. i didn't end up taking it because we were able to pay off all our debts and i was able to stay home...but i would totally ask if it's something that's available to you!
