8am breakfast on a weekday?
I need to make reservations for my boss and another gentleman for breakfast in the St. Paul area.
it will be early morning (8am) and should be fancy pants.

they aren't, i checked. they have a cafe there that is open but it looks so... cafeteria like.
i was thinking the Downtowner Woodfire Grill but i've never been. thoughts?
I've been there for dinner and it was really good. It is pretty nice atmosphere as well.

i know but it's the President of a grocer and my boss who's a VP. Keys probably wouldn't cut it for them.
My extended family all went there for breakfast the day after my wedding, and they really liked it--said the food was great.
However, I wasn't there, because I was not about to wake up early the day after my wedding, so I can't give my personal recommendation
Meh - I had breakfast at the local college breakfast joint in Omaha with Warren Buffett sitting right across the room. Sometimes you just have to go where the food is the best!
I can think of all sorts of weekend brunch places but not so many fancy breakfast joints for a work day.
Doesn't Manny's have breakfast? I'd try there!
ETA: NM, didn't see the St. Paul part... What about the St Paul Hotel?
