TTC Question

I hope this doesn't sound stupid, but I just don't want to miss our days this cycle. I started AF on the 2/16. I'm calculating that 3/1 & 3/3 will be my most fertile days..is this right? Can we start trying tonight and it help at all???

Re: TTC Question

  • It really depends on your cycle. Everyone is different. I often didn't ovulate til CD 27-28. The "typical" cycle is 28 days which would mean ovulation would occur around CD 14. It took a few months of charting for me to figure out when my fertile times were. My loooong cycles were such a letdown and made TTC so frustrating.

  • I didn't ovulate until CD 27 this cycle :(  So for me, those ovulation predictor calendars are worthless.  They are nothing but estimates.

The only way to know if/when you O (without doing bloodwork) is to chart.  It really is simple and all you have to do is take your temp when you wake in the morning.  Prior to O, your temp is lower and post O your temp is higher due to the increase of progesterone produced by your body.

Click on my siggy that says "cycle day 1" and you can see some of my charts to help you better understand what I am talking about!  The vertical red line indicates when I O'd.  Let me know if you have any questions!  GL!

  • I would start now and try every other night for the next week or so ;) Unless you are charting, its hard to tell when you O and when your fertile period is.
