What is your favorite restaurant in NH

My husband and I are tired of the same places to eat.  What are some of your fave restaurants in NH? And Why?

Re: What is your favorite restaurant in NH

  • Pinkerton Tavern in Derry - absolute favorite! Its the whole package, great atmosphere, its got old New England charm. amazing food, limited menu with several specials every night. unbeatable personal service many times from the owner herself - from the first time you walk in the door you are treated like you have been a regular for years. Unfortunately it will be closing on Sunday because some people thinks it is nescessary to tear down a thriving locally owned business to widen the road and put a chain restaurant in its place. =(

We may have to try Gibbett Hill Grill.

We are huge fans on the Glenview Tavern in North Chelmsford, MA...just over the border.  It is a family owned place with simple homemade foods.  Great prices and large portions....Now I want to go for dinner

  • Rustic Leaf in Milford is great but more of a fancy vs hearty meal

Fody's in Nashua is our go to place for when we want to chill and eat something quick and good

Backroom in Manchester strictly for their chicken fingers!

We haven't been to the new Michael Timothys but I want to try it out.

  • Sooooo many to choose from!

We love Pasquale's in Candia for their authentic Italian. (Although I do also love Fratello's).

HUGE fan of Saffron Bistro in Nashua, never had a bad experience there and the food is phenomenal. (Better than Michael Timothy's IMO.)

I agree with PP with the Puritan Backroom. Has been one of my favorites since I was kid, for of course their Chicken Tenders, Broccol+Cheese Bites and the SNICKERSLIDE- Yummmm!!

In Portsmouth, we always hit Famous Franks Pizza & Grille for HUGE servings, great grub and beer!

There are so many new places in Manchester that we still want to try. I love 900 Degrees, Z and Firefly. I still want to try out XO + Mint.

  • In/around Portsmouth:

Shio (the BEST sushi ever...and in some dirt strip-mall)

Poco's Bow Street Cantina (JUST for the margarita's, their food is gross)

Ristorante Massimo (for very fancy Italian)

Savario's (for awesome thin crust pizza)

Popover's on the Square and Ceres Street Bakery (both for lunch, so good!)

Loco Coco's Tacos (just over the bridge in Kittery, but the best, authentic, Mexican)

Tulsi (also just over the bridge in Kittery, but the best Indian food I've ever had)

  • Merrimack Area: Giorgio's(Milford is a nicer atmosphere) and Buckley's Tavern (owner also has Surf and Michael Timothy's)

Lakes Region: The Lakehouse (a common man restaurant), Canoe or The Woodshed

    We're foodees!

  • Manchester Area: Firefly, Cotton, The Portland Pie Company (great pizza!), 900 Degrees (also great pizza!), Gauchos Brazillian Steakhouse

Bedford: Carrabba's hands down... try their chicken soup. I love it so much I tried to make my own version and it came pretty close.

Concord Area: O Steaks & Seafood (there is also one at Lake Opechee Inn in the lakes region) Amazing food! Ichiban is a Japanese Steakhouse and has amazing sushi and Asian food.

Merrimack/Nashua: Giorgio's, Lui Lui (amazing italian), Texas Roadhouse - a chain but if you like Country music, I recommend it!)

Portsmouth: Agave - best Mexican there is!

  • Shio in Portsmouth = best sushi on the seacoast

Zampa in Epping = when you don't feel like dealing with Portsmouth (plus awesome martinis)
