Does anyone want a dog? Male Chihuahua Mix

Hi everyone...

I don't normally post on here but I'm running out of places to go to! I've posted ads on craigslist but there are soooo many people re-homing animals on there, that I haven't gotten much of a response.

I found this dog running around my neighborhood without a collar on, also pretty malnourished, so he might have been a stray... But I have posters all around the neighborhood and haven't received a call from someone claiming him yet, so I thought I would just try to find him a new home... He is such a good dog and I would love to keep him, but my husband and I decided it's better for us to not have a 3rd dog. So, I am doing my best to MAKE SURE he goes to a really good home.

He is a young (not sure how old) tan chihuahua mix. He's a very sweet dog with absolutely no sign of aggression towards people (not sure about children), he gets along great with both dogs and cats. He likes to be near people and sit on your lap and he is very quiet... doesn't bark much, if at all. He is not neutered, and likely has no shots either.

  • aww what a sweet little guy, and how nice of you to care for him!!! i hope you find a good home for him. we have a psycho bulldog and another baby on the way, so dh would possibly kill me. you also might want to look into a chihuahua rescue as well.

  • Awww, I would LOVE to take him but right now is not a good time with having a baby in less than 3 months. I hope you can find him a good home. He looks so sweet and it breaks my heart.

  • Have you had him checked for a microchip?

  • Good luck finding him a home! Ditto on checking for a microchip - worth a shot!

  • Yup, we took him to our vet to check for a microchip. They scanned his whole body and he doesn't have one. And I have signs up all over my neighborhood and at the vet and groomers. It's been a few days, so I am assuming that if someone was looking for him, they would have noticed all of the "found dog" signs on every stop sign in the neighborhood...

Ahh, I've already grown attached to him so I am going to be very picky about who he goes to, but so far, we haven't gotten any responses to any of our ads! And I'm not charging a fee or anything like most people do on craigslist.

  • One other place you might want to try is Facebook....friend AZ Humane Society and the Arizona Animal Welfare League...you can then post pics and contact information on their walls, and it might attract a potential adopter, as well as someone more qualified that you are looking for since they found it on a rescue fan page.

  • Aw thanks for taking him in!  I would contact rescues and see if they will courtesy list him for you so he gets more exposure. I volunteer with a rescue in Prescott and we do this all the time for people.
