Wedding Weds...Let's Talk About Cake Baby!
I'm being such a PW today, only because I don't want to work.
PIP your cake! Jen already has a head start on this one since it's in her siggy.
Also, what flavor(s) did you have?

Richard picked out the dots and I the scroll pattern.

I loved my DIY cake topper!
Flavors were
Lemon meyer, red velvet, tuxedo with amaretto buttercream and tiramisu.
Edit: I didn't have a chance to eat any of it except for a bite of the red velvet during the cake cutting. I was looking forward to trying the lemon.

Re: Wedding Weds...Let's Talk About Cake Baby!
Good idea, Deb!
Flavors were red velvet and chocolate, with fresh strawberries and strawberry mousse in each. The flowers don't match, but I didn't care at that point!
And this is H's groom's cake, my surprise for him. It was vanilla, and delicious! He was so stoked. One of his hockey buddies actually had sticks in his car, and brought them in, and we took some 'faceoff' photos.
ETA: okay, these are small, but I'm finally getting the hang of PIP! Next time.
I loved our cake! We just kept it simple with vanilla and chocolate.
I am sad to say that I don't remember our flavors. One tier was almond and one was coconut, but I can't remember the fillings - I think the coconut had amaretto but I don't remember the other. It was iced with vanilla buttercream. Even though I don't remember the details, it was the best cake I've ever eaten!
Pic below...
Flavors -
Bottom tier was almond w/ lemon filling
Middle tier was chocolate w/ raspberry fililng
Top tier was banana/chocolate chips w/ buttercream filling
I never got to taste the chocolate, I got 2 bites of the vanilla during our cutting, and the banana/chocolate chips tier was amazing - we ate that for our 1 month
Stupid question how do I pp??
I odn't have them on my work computer but I have them on FB. Can I get them from that?
Laura! Yours looks SO yummy!
xtine... you can grab them from FB. Right click on the image and choose properties, then copy the link that's there. Bring it over here, and click on the image button at the top of the text box. Paste it in the url box and you should be good to go!
Hahaha...wish I would have known that. I copied from fb to my desktop then uploaded to photobucket.
They all look so pretty! Now I want cake
.
I really liked the birds. I was actually thinking about selling them to another Knottie, but when I mentioned it to Jeff he said, "No, I don't think you should. I love our cake birds!" I thought it was really cute, since I had no idea he cared one way or another about them.
I was trying to find a picture of the inside of the cake to show, but the only ones I have are from when we were feeding each other and the faces I'm making are simply awful.
It was boring vanilla but it was from my favorite bakery and boring vanilla is my FAV
Oooh, we were thinking of going with that cake topper. I love Willow Tree. H actually got me that figure as a wedding present.
The Princess of Anything is Coming!
Had a dream I was queen.
Woke up. Still queen.
My mom collected willow tree angels and since she has passed I now collect them. Having the cake topper and I also had the guest book was one if my ways of having my mom there. I also gave all my BM willowtree angels as gifts.
H will usually always give me on for some sort of gift giving occassion.
H and I wanted a very simple cake, but we wanted it to be octagonal and offset. The ribbon and the flowers were added because we couldn't think of anything else to do with it. It turned out perfectly.
Flavors were vanilla cake with chocolate mousse filling and chocolate cake with raspberry filling. Frosting was butter cream because we wanted it to be tasty.

My Cake: the top teirs is just plain vanilla so we could freeze it for our 1 year anniversary, the middle tier was lemon and rasberrry filling in between vanilla cake, the bottom tier was fresh strawberries with gran marrie (sp?)
Grooms Cake: was chocolate cake with chocolate moose layers.
Our real cake and the infamous zombie cake. Both cakes were made by my now sister in-law. I think they were alternating layers of red velvet and chocolate? I can't remember.

Oh how sweet! I got a little teary eyed. What's up with me being emotional today?
Ooh, fun! It's actually nice to post pictures of our actual wedding details instead of inspiration
We had a cupcake tier (featuring my DIY stand
with a variety of chocolate, vanilla and chocolate chip pound cake. All were buttercream icing. The chocolate chip pound was the bomb. We actually have a whole individual cake of it (now sitting in our freezer for our anniverasry) that was supposed to be on the top tier of our tower, but it was too big.
As for the caketopper, heirloom from J's paternal grandparents. It's over 50 years old which is pretty cool. We plan to pass it down to our first.

There are some amazing cakes on here btw
I just got a little sentimental about when we were all in the planning stages.

Ditto. Your flower cake for one is so chic looking.
And ditto. I feel a twinge of sadness now. Can we please just go back to the day to revisit? That's really all I want, although I'm sure it would still result in a jumbled blur.

Me too! i was just about to think of more pictures we could post.
I love the Coors Light and Zombie grooms cakes.
hahahaha
I dunno where our cakes went to either. Most of it got eaten. Two cakes for 130 people apparently is cutting it close. I never even had a piece.
We had a groom's cake cause Chris really, really wanted a zombie cake. He wanted it more than a normal cake.
SusieQ, I love how dainty your whole set up was.

Our cakes were a surprise to us. We met with the cake lady and she pretty much told me our colors didn't work. The chocolate cake was supposed to have fresh flowers on it and monkey tails, working off of our bouquets. But we are fine with what we got since we only paid a total of $200 with her driving 3 hours to deliver.
ETA: Images. Warning large. Sorry.
If Allen would have thought about zombies he would have done that. He plays Call of Duty:Black Ops on XBox and theres a zombie level on that. haha He's a dork yes!
1) i want cake now
2) i love cupcakes. i want a cupcake now too.
3) laura, i LOVE your birds.
4) i really want cake now.

Kat, I just sent this photo to my coworker - she saw it on my computer screen and is now adding it to her inspiration photos!
I will post a picture when I get home because I don't have any good ones on FB. My top and bottom layers (which were never cut at the reception) were chocolate with a chocolate/hazelnut filling. We still have the top in the freezer and a chunk we'll eat next month (6mo!). It took us a while to get thru that bottom layer - even after bringing large pieces to work! The middle two layers were red velvet. DH picked that one; since I don't like red velvet, I picked the other flavor. Frosted in buttercream - no fondant!
I had to copy and paste my picture directly. It wasn't working from the url.
OMG...hazel nut filling sounds amazing!
excited bride, I LOVE your cake!
