Car insurance, help, i'm lost?
ok i don't have any (no worries i don't have a car.) im trying to figure if i can afford one but im seriously confused, i can't figure out how much i would need to pay (i realize they charge differently for different people i'm looking for an average.). I live in AZ, and my license is clean. How much do you figure i'd pay, monthly?
Re: Car insurance, help, i'm lost?
it really depends on your liability coverages, year of car, safety features, if you have full coverage or not, etc. there are so many things that go into a rate it's going to be hard to get an average. you can call any company and get a quote with a year/make/model that you're looking at. also you may have to pay a surcharge because you let your insurance lapse (regardless of if you have a vehicle or not, you can still get a non-owners policy very cheap to keep continuous coverage). i used to do insurance policies for usaa.
i pay $95/month for full coverage on 2 cars (01 and 03) with 100/300/100 liability coverages and $500 deductibles, and we have a 3rd car that has partial coverage in storage.
It's really going to vary...but we pay just under $510/six month policy for 2 cars (02/03). I can't remember off the top of my head what our coverage max is, but I know it was one of the upper choices, and includes glass/rental coverages. Our deductible is $500.
Even looking at our two cars, there is a huge variance. My 2003 Camry is over $300 of this policy, and DHs 2002 Saturn is under $200. So the type of car has a big weight as well.
i completly agree! As this is what I do for a living I can also tell you that your age will play a factor in the rating. most companies go with a score based off credit not your actual credit score. just FYI
whatever you do go with higher than the state minimum. in all honesty, its crap
(gets off soap box)
yeah seriously, if you get into an accident with state minimum coverages and total the other car, you're basically screwed.
lol i started typing all kind of do's and don'ts in my reply and then i erased it thinking it was way too much information for the question that was asked lol.
