Advice please

I am scheduling May's 6 month pictures on April 2 with our wedding photographer and I'm super excited about it!

My photog, Carisa, asked me what time works best for May. The answer to that is probably the morning.

The only thing is, my gf's family bridal shower is scheduled from 10-12 that day. This is a casual come and go shower in a town 2 hours away (I want to reiterate, mainly family members). If I go to her shower, I definitely can't do the pics in the morning, and then we'd have to schedule it for late afternoon after putting the munchkin through 4 hours of driving and lots of attention from strangers.

I actually don't want to go to the shower for the following selfish reasons: 1) it's 2 hours away, 2) she said we didn't have to come since it's far away, 3) I'm not really a "group" person, 4) I am already sacrificing a ridiculous amount of time and money for this all day bachelorette party extravaganza in May that annoys me every time I think of it.

Thoughts? I have potentially already made up my mind but it doesn't hurt to ask.

I'd make sure a gift would get there from me and skip the event.

Driving 4 hours for a 2 hour event seems a little crazy anyhow.

 We had 6 month pictures yesterday. I love the sneak peeks and can't wait to see the rest!
