Visiting Milwaukee in June, any advice?

Hello! I will be coming to Milwaukee June 24-26 for the Brewers-Twins series and I'm looking for any advice, tips or suggestions you can offer! We will have a group of 6 and are okay with driving/cab to the stadium but would prefer a hotel within walking distance to nightlife and restaurants. Anything fun to do Saturday before an evening game? Any Brewery tour suggestions?

Thank you!

  • Lakefront Brewery tour  http://www.lakefrontbrewery.com/main.html

lots of hotels downtown...alofts is pretty new and not expensive.  I've never been there.  Nightlife at the bars on Water St. will be your 20 somethings hanging out.  Unfortunately that is the weekend right before Summerfest starts.....so there probably isn't any other 'fest' going on.

The tailgating is a big thing at Miller Park....if you do cab it there.....take a walk through the parking lots...it will be...er....interesting.  :)

  • After the brewery. Go to downtown water street and old world 3rd street for a night on the town. Also see what festivals are going on. If your going towards the end of the month it will be summerfest. I just read the comment above and I see you won't be there for Summerfest. Sad But I'm sure you'll still have lots of fun since it's a group of you going.
  • I definitely recommend Water Street Brewery for dinner.  They're food is awesome!  Also, if SummerFest is going on then, you should def. stop by.
  • I was just coming over here to post the same thing! My husband and I are also going out for the Twins series. I got a Milwaukee visitors guide from their website which has a list of hotels and things to do. But am hoping to get some more ideas here!

    Thanks!

  • The Ambassador is super nice, but very expensive (and apparently haunted?).

I just stayed at the Lakefront Comfort Inn it was pretty nice, I like that they have a parking garage, it takes a little bit of maneuvering to get a spot there, but at least you don't have to park on the street.

My favorite place to eat is Mader's it's an amazing historical German restaurant, the art alone is absolutely amazing. The food is great too!

My bridesmaid's and I went to The Safehouse to eat for my bachelorette party and had a blast! It's hard to find though since it's hidden in an alley and we were a little skeptical to walk down an alley alone lol. It's spy themed and really fun to see.

We went and saw Comedy Sportz too, it was fantastic. It's like "Whose Line Is It Anyway?"  and we only spent $8 to get in.
