As you ladies know, I am itching to lead a project but have been concerned about whether there will be a project to lead (background: most of our work comes from congressional requests; so if we don't have enough requests, it's hard to give everyone who deserves the lead that position). My boss and I had yet another discussion about my next project this morning. BUT, he gave me his full strategy for my career progression for the next year - oh my, it is ambitious and the guns are blazing! He's worked hard to get me what I want and if it falls through, all FIVE (yes, he came up with five) back-up options are great and he's being very aggressive about getting me promoted early. He is simply AWESOME! He has won a couple of years of loyalty. :-) I'm really excited for my next project now, no matter what it is. Yay!
Also, I looked on his calendar to schedule a meeting and saw the following appt for all of next Friday morning. Title: "Deal with HVAC and furnace guy. Supposed to come 8:30 to 9:30 but who really knows" Maybe I have a low bar for humor, but it cracked me up.
Re: I heart my boss
Yeah, I know I'm VERY lucky. When my old boss got promoted last winter, I wasn't sure if the new one could be as good. It's hard to find great bosses let alone two in a row.
Darn nest had to duplicate my post not once but twice. Sorry!
Edited out. Silly nest!
