Looking for "Bun in the Oven" baby shower ideas
I'm going to culinary school for baking and pastry. One of the girls in my class is pregnant, so we're going to throw her a shower. There will be 14 people coming to my house for an afternoon tea/sweets party.
I would like to do a 'Bun in the Oven' theme since we're all bakers, but am not finding a whole lot of stuff online.
Does anyone have any neat ideas?
TIA!
Re: Looking for "Bun in the Oven" baby shower ideas
For starters, I would def serve cinnamon buns! I have even seen cinnamon bun candles you could do as favors if you'd like. Or one of those bake mixes that has all of the dry ingredients layered pretty (which you could make) as favors...
What about "mom-osas" - depends on the crowd
Have a "recipe box" and have guests fill out recipe cards with tips/wishes
some type of game with an oven/egg timer ie every set their or how long they think it will take to open presents, closest person wins
you could play "BUNco" (i think thats regional)
maybe also some other kind of bun, like chocolate glazed, fruit filled, or praline. You could technically just serve all different flavors of "buns" or mini cupcakes and cookies are nice too. have something "bun-ana" flavored (banana bread)
Maybe get an apron from etsy, but have it embroidered "mom" or "mommy"
What a cute (and apropo) theme!
PP had some cute suggestions. I like the apron idea.
No doubt that you'll have great dessert and edible favors. How abou little buns in these types of "oven" boxes?
