What's a Gallon of Gas
Running you these days? Inspiration for this came from emilyann.
Also, I'm sooooo sorry for being a PW lately, I feel like I'm dominating this board.
I just filled up Wednesday for $3.59 a gallon.

I filled up this AM for $3.46/gal. I filled up in NJ when I went to my lil bro's hockey game weekend before last for under $3.

Had a dream I was queen.
Woke up. Still queen.
Some places are $3.02-$3.12 around here if they're right off an interstate, but other places are as low as $2.95.

gas went up by $.20 in one night this week! it is due to the dramz in the middle east. it is now $3.40 here. it is hard to complain though--when we moved to Truckee, gas was so expensive, it was $4.56--the most expensive in the country! it is $4.06 there right now.

Now that I rarely drive, I don't know. Jersey usually has some of the cheapest in the country though. I really miss driving.
On a semi-related note, I've never pumped my own gas.
Hmm...and we want to drive to Tahoe.
Gas prices have always been crazy high off I-5. Which is why I dread driving to SoCal or Vegas.
I bought gas yesterday i didn't even pay attention I believe i paid 3.11 ish? give or take a couple cents.
QoA, where in NJ? I'm heading there tomorrow and maybe I'll wait to fill up.

I have family up in NJ and my cousin who is 48 still has never pumped her own gas...even when she travels she'll go in to the gas station and ask someone to help her out and explains she's from NJ. Somehow she always finds nice helpful people that will pump the gas for her. It blows my mind. I still find it odd when we're up there visiting to have someone else pump my gas.
When I was younger I remember my Mom getting yelled at by a guy when she got out when to pump her own gas...she just simply forgot where she was. He flipped out, it was quite funny.
I was complaining the other day about pumping gas and told H I wish i lived in NJ so it would be illegal, he told me they stopped that. I hate getting gas, when I lived in RI I would drive out of my way to the gas station in Mass that was full service and still cheap.
I think it was $3.59 or so earlier this week; two gas stations in my new neighborhood is running between $3.55-$3.64/gallon.

As far as I know, it's definitely still illegal. DH had to commute to Boston for 3 months and when he'd come home on the weekends, he hated not being able to pump himself cause "it's so much faster". I did take a road trip with friends to Maryland once in hs. We had to find someone to help us (not my proudest moment)- luckily she grew up in Jersey, so she was really nice about it.
I like that we're still some of the cheapest gas in the state even though they're all full service.
Right now I am overly happy that I drive a Prius *and* K and I commute together every day, so we're not getting hit too, too hard.
BUT I still hate spending so much on gas. On Monday of this week, the gas station near our house, which is usually one of the cheapest around was $3.05. Last night on the way home, it was $3.25. This morning it was $3.39. I don't have a good feeling about this. And my car is almost empty. Ouchhhhhhhh.
Deb- If you guys go up to Tahoe, fill up at Colfax, it's usually a little bit less than Truckee and there's a Starbucks there.
I filled up yesterday- $3.65...blech.

I'm in Canada, so we go by liters here
Not sure what the conversion is...
However, gas right now is between $1.18 to $1.22 per liter, which is unheard of!
The average (after our tax changed to hst last year) is about 95cents to just over $1.
wait, i just about had a heart attack--
our condo association does not lock in to lower gas rates in the summer, so we have to pay whatever the going rate is for gas...i just got a bill today for 91 gallons used last month...at $3.44 a gallon...LOVELY FRUCKING $315 BILL!!!! and gas is even HIGHER now, so i imagine our next month bill is going to be insane.
please excuse me while i go cry in a bowl of blueberries and a bottle of vodka...

Is there a way you can get put on a fixed rate? I had the option of being on a fixed rate or the going rate and opted for the fixed rate in case something like this happened. (I don't know if you have any control of that with your condo but if so, check it out) And I also feel your pain about the insanely high gas bill.
i have no control over locking into a fixed rate...i am however going to complain to the condo association and say that it is RIDICULOUS that they did not lock into a rate this year--or any year! how could they not?? my parents did and there gas is $1.50 less per gallon than ours is right now!
