seriously???
my sisters girlfriend was just hit in a hit and run car accident on the street in nyc. she was standing on the sidewalk, the car jumped the curb, hit her, left her unconcious and drove away. she is in the hospital now, a shattered leg and all bruised up and is being scanned for internal bleeding and trauma. and because my sister is only her girlfriend and not her wife, she is not allowed in to see her, even though her girlfriend is asking for her.
any t and p for my sister and her gf would be greatly appreciated.

That is awful that she is not allowed to see her. I hope the hospital gets their head out of their azz and allows your sis to see and comfort her. and that they catch the ahole who did it

thanks guys. newest update is that tia (sister) has been able to see gf this afternoon but she is in the ICU until her surgery on monday. she shattered her femur (strongest bone in the body) broke a few ribs, bruised her lungs, and is, in general, all beat up. she is resting for now. her lawyer is looking into the *** that ran her over (seeing if the lights in the neighborhoods had video that could show the accident) and tia is holding it together and feeling a lot better now that she was able to spend some time with her gf. she will be able to visit her for a few hours a day but the gf is pretty exhausted and wiped out from her pain medication, etc.
anyway, thank you all for the positive energy. please keep it coming.

And that rule is stupid. ESPECIALLY if a patient is asking for someone in particular. WTH. I'm glad your sister got to see her gf.

I hope both of them are doing better now. I know there's still a long road to recovery, but it could be worse right? Thank god the *** didn't kill her.

So glad to hear in the morning thread that it sounds like she's doing better! I've heard NY is on cutting edge with the number of cameras they have, so I hope they're able to catch the scum that hit her.
That is so freaking horrible. How can a person live with themselves for doing something like that to another human being?
