A good friend of mine is trying to plan a destination wedding, sight unseen...
Do you ladies have any insight on the Sirata? Pros, Cons, etc
Any specific vendors you would like to recommend would be appreciated too!
Since I got marriend quite a bit south of St. Pete Beach, my vendors would be too far away, but I know most of you got married in the Tampa/St. Pete area.
I told her she needs to get on the knot!
Thanks!

Re: Sirata Beach Resort
We were married at the Sirata (four and a half years ago) and loved it. They have the perfect location on the beach to get married...your wedding aisle is lined with palm trees. But what we liked most about it was that there was many locations on the resort to have your wedding/cocktail hour/reception to choose from. We loved the upstairs room...which can hold about 140 people (if I remember correctly)....it has a great view of the beach & sunset from the top floor of the hotel.
They do have minimums though...food & beverage. By the time you add in tax & service fees, for wedding of about 100 people you are looking at 10K (which does include 5 hours of full open bar and plentiful appetizers). We thought the food was pretty damn good.
And I will say that they bent over backwards to accommodate anything myself or my family wanted.
Their rooms are nice...some have been recently remodeled from what I understand. Some are better than others. If she is looking for a laid back wedding location on the beach...with a great beachy feel....where your guests can stay at the hotel and don't have to worry about car rental or travel....it's a great place. Don't expect the Don Cesar...and enjoy!
