It's funny how J & C started off so similar, then kind of went their separate ways at 6 months or so, but now seem to be on the same wavelength with a lot of things. Unless C walked recently, both he and J take a few steps when they're not paying attention, but neither have full-on walked. I know J doesn't even realize when he takes these steps on his own.
As for how I feel about him turning 1 NEXT SATURDAY!!!!!? I really have no words. I look at him and wonder how I pushed him outta me -- he's almost 3 times his birth weight now and 1/3 longer. I have been reminiscing about "this time last year we were ... x days overdue / walking around the block trying to start labor / hoping I wouldn't go into labor in the middle of a snowstorm / etc." This little guy is a little boy at this point. He understands things that we say to him, we think he actually calls Thom "da da," and he tells us when he wants us to pick him up and snuggle him. There's very little baby left
What Rebecca said
. Nope, C still learned to walk in the last two days. My mom thought for sure he'd be an early walker since he started cruising pretty early but nope, I think maybe in the next two months at least though.
I too, have no words other than it's surreal. I think back on how at some points I never thought I'd make it to this time. I remember what I was feeling at this point (3 days away from my due date 3/3/10) and how so freaking SCARED I was when my water broke.
He never ceases to amaze me, he's always surprising me with the way he adjusts to things and the things he learns. I never knew I could be so proud. We're pretty excited about watching him continue to grow and being apart of the amazing things he's got ahead of him.
We took his 12 month photo today since I needed it printed for his birthday banner for his party Saturday - I just can't believe it's been a year!!
