My DH and i have the same laptop, HP Pavillion. Mine is 3.5 yrs his is 3 yrs and they both are starting to bite the dust. Mine is extremely slow, we've tried wiping the hard drive clean, deleting programs, and nothing seemed to help. His laptop over heats within 15 min and shuts off.
We want to get a new computer, but we dont know whether to get a desktop or laptop. We do photo editing, gaming, internet browsing, and school work. I think having a desktop would be better but he disagrees.
Any suggestions on what to get would be appreciated!

Re: laptop or desktop??
Desktops are a bit more stable and you can usually make them last a bit longer than a laptop.
Are you both getting a new computer? Maybe you could split the difference with a desktop and a netbook?
This is the route we went.
