Re: Dog Hair
Lint brushes!
We also have a Shark brand pet vaccuum from BBB that we love. It has several types of attachments so we use it for everything. Wood floor, carpet, couch, pillow, etc. It's awesome.
ETA: We also have a fur-minator brush. Although we're not good about using it on a daily basis, it definitely helps.

Ugh...dog hair! Our dog has the WORST bad hair days!:
Seriously, though, that's not my dog. Just a random picture I found. For our dog, I highly recommend the Shark. I have one anyway for cleaning wax off my workshop tables, and it has changed our life. We have 3 cats, too, and pet hair is now at a minimum in our house.
I recently saw that Dyson came out with a pet vacuum, where you actually "suck" the hair off your dog.
There's no way Oscar would ever let us use this on him. He hides whenever we bring out the Shark or our regular vacuum
