Monday

GM! The weekend went by way too fast. I got a text while in my meeting Friday from Jeremy telling me we had a date that night so he took me out to eat and we were going to see a movie but we're old farts and didn't want to wait til the late show (it didn't start til 10 something) so we did that Saturday. We hoped to play tennis Saturday but the courts stayed full so we gave up.

Yesterday was rough. We got into it big time (I have no idea over what) and he ended up going to play tennis or run or something by himself while I finished my book, cleaned and cooked supper. That was it.

How was everyone's weekend?

Re: Monday

  • This weekend flew by, but was very hockey and skating filled since it was the last weekend for home games before some of the teams head to states. I made cupcakes for the hockey bake sale (my cousins are on the teams) that were amazing...Cherry Limeade (Annie's Eats). Saturday we had dinner with FIL, MIL, and BIL and then took a sauna went home and crashed.

Yesterday I got called in to work for a couple hours, coached then went to our community college's basketball game with DH and BIL. It wasn't very exciting even though the game was tied with 2.7 seconds left. We watched the Oscars and crashed again.

  • so.tired.

perfect weekend--friday night we made dinner, watched tv, bed. saturday i cleaned the house and did the gym thing, then we went to the in laws for my birthday dinner.  sunday, gerren had the day off with me for the first time in 2 months, and he let me sleep REALLY late, then we did NOTHING and watched weeds ALL day.  finally he made me cupcakes and then we went to dinner with my parents.  Came home, had some vodka, watched the oscars, slept, and woke to an ice storm.

got an iphone for my birthday, yippee!

and my sisters girlfriend is in surgery today, should be out of the hospital by thursday.  thanks again for sending them some support!

  • Another Monday.  Blah.  The weekend really flew by for me too.  H and I went out shopping on Saturday and ended up buying a treadmill on sale, I bought a new MacBook because my old laptop was the one I had in college and is on it's last legs, and I upgraded my iPhone.

Other than that, I vaccumed, did three loads of laundry, cleaned the kitchen and H shoveled since we got about 5 more inches of snow yesterday, and we went food shopping only for a few days since we're leaving Thursday night to go to NY for H's father's wedding!

My diet / excercise routine is going well.  I began last Thursday and already notice a difference in how my clothes fit.  I think I've lost a pound or two, which is good since I have my annual physical this afternoon so I'll know exactly where things stand.

  • Happy Monday all.  Had a great, relaxing weekend.  Friday night I crashed at the usual 9pm, woke up at 9am on Saturday.  12 hours from Fri to Sat seems to be the norm now, recuping from the lack of sleep during the week.

Saturday, DH and I lollygagged around the house waiting to meet up w/ friends for Linkin Park.  Was a great show, but I had a killer headache.  The ton of vodka I drank didn't help either.  Woke up Sunday with the same headache and a slight hangover.

Sunday was spent helping MIL search for houses, still.  The offer she put in right before Christmas fell thru, so the search continues.  Did I ever mention I hate house hunting?  She's been doing it for a good 3 years, so I'm definitely sick of it.  Didn't want to go to bed last night, cuz that meant I was closer to coming to work today.  Finall fell asleep around 1, alarm went off at 5.  SUCK!

So jealous of you iPhone and MacBook gals.  Still crawling around w/ my blackberry circa 2003 (with no data plan) and our desktop computer circa 2000.  *sigh*

  • Happy Monday!!  Weekend was terribly productive.  Picked up furniture, organized all of the STUFF, hung valances & blinds, installed the closet organizer.  Okay, so K & my dad did most of the heavy lifting/hard work but I supervised.  Stick out tongue  Mom was a big help too, washing out the drawers, dusting the new furniture, folding & putting away clothing/other washables and all the random stuff.

Sadly, now that I'm back at work, I'm pooped.  I will need the next 5 days to recover so I can be all kinds of productive again next weekend.

Shauni-was sorry to hear about your sister's gf - hope she has a speedy recovery.

  • Morning girlies!

congrats to shauni and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

I had decent weekend too.  Saw a lot of friends, did a lot of fun stuff. Highlight was - we decided to drive to an outlet mall but we were having such a good time in the car, we totally over shot it.  At that point we figured, what the hell, let's keep going, so we ended up on the beach.  It was warm enough to walk out to the water without a jacket.  Afterwards we found a nice restaurant for lunch.  It was perfect.

The low point of the weekend was when Chris woke me up a 3am to tell me that our friend who was crashing upstairs, vomited down the entire carpeted hallway (this is why I detest carpet), the walls and a little on the ceiling. He said it looked like a murder scene.  Because some jackass drove into two electric poles down the street, there were no lights and no water to clean up.  hahaha

  • Good morning!  This weekend was fantastic - we had an amazing lunch on Saturday for my birthday, and yesterday we went to Outback with my aunt, uncle, and 4 y.o. cousin and it was a good time.  I also got lots of birthday loot to spend on Kindle books, and my new Coach bag came.

Today I'm going in late, and we're having a 'lasagna luncheon' where the proceeds go to charity - my boss bought us all tickets, so free lunch for me! They're good about limiting the portions, which is good for me since I've been pigging out lately.  A week from today are my qualifying exams, so I'm a combination of stressed and relieved; I really have to get some things done today and I think I'll be taking a break from TN for most of the week to study.  A week from now, I'll be free!

  • Friday night's concert was amazing!  There was no opening act and they played for 3 hours!  Saturday I slept in and then DH and I went shopping for a desk for what will be our home office.  And yesterday we had lunch with his parents and did our grocery shopping.  I baked some banana bread and applesauce cake while we watched the Oscars.

My boss approached me Friday with an "opportunity".  But over the weekend I realized it's not really want I want to do anymore, so today I have to tell her I'm not interested.  I'm also having a hard time trying to figure out what I want to do with my life.  I thought I had already figured this out!

  • This weekend was fun but went by way too fast!! Friday, had lunch with H, then went and got some small stuff for the bridal shower i'm throwing on the 13th. Then I went to get my car detailed, that took an hour (who knew they would be busy mid-day on a friday. Then went to my dads to hang out for alittle bit then met my mom at lowes to pick out outdoor light fixtures then went to her house and hung out with her.

Saturday, went to lunch with H then we went and got a gift for my brother for his birthday, then went to my dads and hung out then watched Due Date on DVR (waste of time, hated that movie) then later that evening we had some people over and rented the UFC fights.

Sunday, we went to brunch and then went I went home and cleaned and did laundry. H went to his friends house to hang out. And he had to talk work with him because H is his boss and that guy was upset he found out one of the other tech's makes more money than him. Then around 8 we headed to my moms to eat some homemade enchiladas, my grandma was in town so she dropped two pans of at my moms house. And we took a pan home I can't wait to eat them for dinner tonight!!

  • Good Morning All!

My weekend wasn't very eventful.  On Saturday my Mom came down to visit and we went to breakfast, shopping (she got some stuff but not broke me), got pedicures and we got our eyebrows waxed - kudos to my Mom for paying for it all!  Since there was a UFC fight that night I planned on going to my SILs to see my niece...well, SIL was sick so I wasn't stepping foot in that house so I stayed home and played computer games.  I was super bored.  Don got home around 1am and we crashed by 2am.

Sunday morning we just lounged around since Don didn't have to be at work until 1.  Once we left for work I did some laundry and picked up around the house.  It was such a nice day we had the windows open...so nice!  The rest of my day I watched some shows on Hulu and played some more computer games.  Don got home around 8:30 and we were in bed by 10:30.

I'm home today...I decided to take a "mental health" day for myself.  It took so long last week just to make it to the weekend that I didn't want it to end.  I just ordered 2 pants from ON online since they're having a 20% off sale today only (code is earlybird).  We are in serious need of food so I guess I'll go to the grocery store in a little while too.  Tonight Don's got his first appointment to get his tattoo done, he's covering up the one he has now on his left forearm that he doesn't like...so hopefully tonight goes well.  It'll take probaby 5-6 trips for it to be completed.

  • Good morning!  And HAPPY BIRTHDAY Shauni and Laura!

My weekend was okay.  We slept a lot and worked on the bathroom reno.  I'm so sick and tired of drywall spackling and sanding I could scream.  And I love my H to death, but he is just not handy and has such a sucky attitude about it.  I can't wait for this bathroom to be done.

Aside from bathroom stuff, I'm ready to go postal on Comcast.  I used my Comcast internet to sign up for Fios on Friday night.  Not 10 minutes later, our Comcast internet quit working and they weren't able to fix it all weekend.  I'm sure it's a coincidence, but really?  10 minutes after signing up to switch service providers, your service goes out on me?  THIS is just one of the many reasons I'm done with you, Comcrap! :-P

  • I'm here, just checking the interwebs before I buckle down to work.  We were busy bees this weekend, with my ILs in town.  We didn't actually do all that much, but I cooked a big dinner both Sat & Sunday, and then all the cleanup and everything that goes along with it.  Watched the Oscars while I tried to get some work done, which actually kind of worked.

I'm really looking forward to this busy period at work being over, but it'll basically end right when we're leaving for our trip to London/Paris/So. France, where I obviously won't be getting tons of extra sleep!  I'm so excited to go, but a little disappointed that we had to move it up 2 months, when the weather won't be very nice.

  • Friday night - James and I finished packing boxes and I had to go to Home Depot to get more. Once I got to my SUV, I noticed that someone ripped off my registration tags...ggrrr! So now I have an appointment for the DMV in two weeks to get them replaced.
Saturday - was moving day - we still have lots of crap to pack up but we moved everything to his brothers house for storage and then some stuff to his parents. God bless James for cleaning the apartment while I went to turn in our cable box and computer modem. Our cats were freaked out but they've adjusted well to his parents house. So now we wait until the closing on our house and we move again. Going to suck to live out of suitcases for 2 weeks and not sleeping in our own bed but we'll survive.

  • Toilet paper and cheese...is what I need to get at the store today on my lunch.  I have to write it down so I don't forget.

Weekend went by too fast of course.  Saturday we saw a few flurries of snow.  Might not be exciting for most, but it never snows in Gilroy.  I've lived here my entire life and it has never been close enough, or cold enough for snow.  Richard and I were so excited, as were the people at Togo's.  The snow didn't last long and didn't stick to the ground, but at least we can tell our kids that we saw snow in Gilroy.

Sunday we cleaned house.  We were on it!  We then wanted to get out of the house so we went to The Gap Outlet.  I had been wanting to go for some time.  Got there and they had a ton of super cute items.  Tried a bunch on and left with one shirt and one pair of sandals that will be returned because they aren't comfortable.

Oh and my aunt pissed me off last night!  She is Christian and goes to church regularly.  Lately she has been telling me that her prayer is that all of her family go to church and have a relationship with god.  She tellsl me this every time I talk to her which is like every day.  Yesterday she texts me and invites me to her church.  Rich and I already talked about it because we don't want to go to her church b/c aren't comfortable being around the people there.  So, she tells me last night

Her: I sent you a text.

    Me: Okay.

Her: Gives me her church speech about her prayers, and that Jesus is coming soon.

**Then it set me off.  **

Me: By you pushing me on it makes me not want to go.  We don't want to go to your church and when we're ready to go to church we will go.

When and if I'm ready I'll go.  Yes, she's family and she has my best interest at heart but she needs to back off and let me decide for myself.  Okay end rant.

  • My weekend was alright. Hockey games Fri and Sat. Lost and tied. Unfortunately, that means that we don't get a bye next weekend. However, we do have home ice so yay for that.

H and I are starting to plan our trips for various weddings. It's kind of depressing how much money we're going to be spending traveling to places we have no interest in. Oh and for his brother's wedding, H needs to buy this suit and has already purchased these shoes. Poor H.

In other sad news, H and I have decided that we need to replace our roof instead and put off my kitchen. Crying. After the whole bat thing and now we're having a leak over the kitchen window, we decided that it was the priority. I'm actually kind of surprised at how low the quotes are. Our house is around $200k and the highest quote we got was like $10k. It seems like the roof is important enough to be more than 5% of the house's value. But shh, don't tell the roofing guys I said that!

My day is dragging. I've been so lazy lately. At work and at home and regarding exercising. I need to get my butt in gear. H has a reffing meeting tongiht so maybe I'll tackle the bathrooms or hem my sweatpants. In reality, I'll likely sit on the couch and watch HIMYM and whatever else is on TV tonight.

He has to BUY the suit & shoes?  I REALLY hope he likes seersucker...or it'll take up space in the back of the closet for the next 50 years.  That's a bummer.

Nope, H HATES seersucker. He's not one to keep things, so he'll probably toss/ebay/craiglist it after the wedding.

That would tick me off!  I think it costs like $25 or so to replace, which stinks.

MH apparently had this happen to him a few times in AZ, so what he does when he puts the sticker on now is lightly cut an X on the tag.  He says if someone tries to take it off, they won't be able to get it off in one piece, and you won't have to get a new one.

  • Weekend report: Friday I picked up some dogfood, then home to shoo MFD out the door. I ate crappola for dinner, read magazines, painted my nails and caught up on DVR'd shows. I did laundry and cleaned the powder room and was in bed by 10.

Saturday I slept until 10, which rocked. I felt a lot better. I got up, cleaned the bathroom, changed the sheets, washed sheets and towels, headed to the store, dusted the basement, packed a bag, and headed to AC with my friend Cathy.

Drinking and revelry with MFD and our mummer friends all day. I was in bed by 2 a.m.

Sunday I woke up at 6:30 wanting tacos. ??????? I showered and took a walk on the beach and boardwalk, then roused MFD and we headed home. I watched shows all day, had taco hell for lunch, took a lovely nap and we ordered out and watched the Oscars.

In college, the cafeteria ALWAYS served tacos at Sunday brunch, which typically followed serious drinking on Saturday night.  Even now (ok, not RIGHT now), when we've been out drinking it up on a weekend night, I wake up the next morning and tacos are the only thing I want to eat.  K thinks I'm a freak.
